  • Shop.org: Retailers planning last-minute holiday shipping rush

    Washington, D.C. -- A report released Wednesday by Shop.org, a division of the National Retail Federation, found that retailers are in tune with the last-minute shipping intentions of the average consumer.

    According to Shop.org’s 2012 eHoliday Study conducted by BIGinsight, 45.7% of retailers will end standard shipping promotions by Monday, Dec. 17, in direct response to the average consumer’s tendency to wait until the last minute to finish holiday shopping.

    Retailers are enjoying solid sales of male grooming aids this holiday season, according to NPD.

    Men’s grooming products are perennially popular holiday items because they provide a convenient gift-giving solution, but this trend is even more evident this year based on NPD’s findings.

    Men’s grooming appliances include men’s electric shavers, facial trimmers, home hair clippers, pen trimmers, body groomers and nose/ear trimmers.

  • Galleria at Tyler names GM

    Riverside, Calif. -- Chicago-based General Growth Properties announced it has named Jim Fuson as the new general manager for Galleria at Tyler, located in Riverside, Calif.

    Effective September 2012, Fuson as general manager is responsible for the overall shopping center with primary focus on development, leasing, and increasing the value of the asset.  In addition, he will be overseeing the administration, operations, marketing, business development, capital improvements and the strategic plan developed for the center.

    NORWALK, Conn. — LogicSource, a sourcing solutions firm owned by Bain Capital, has appointed Sam Vail to the newly created GM spot for its OneMarket technology division. Vail will be responsible for driving OneMarket’s “Concept-to-Customer” solutions strategy, product marketing and business development.

  • Lane Bryant launches shopping technology and site optimization for iPad

    Columbus, Ohio -- Lane Bryant said Wednesday it has unveiled enhancements to its online shopping experience with the shopping tool ‘Just For You.’ In addition, the brand has enhanced its mobile browsing capabilities to create a seamless shopping experience from an iPad mobile device.
