  • Gymboree deploys Oracle Commerce

    Redwood Shores, Calif. -- The Gymboree Corporation has selected Oracle Commerce to support its full range of international e-commerce sites for its Gymboree, Janie and Jack, and Crazy 8 brands.

    In addition to Oracle Commerce, Gymboree also intends to implement Oracle WebLogic Suite.

  • Jo-Ann reshuffles executive leadership team

    Jo-Ann has promoted Riddianne Kline to EVP, marketing and merchandising, and Tom Williams to EVP, operations and human resources. James Kerr, EVP, CFO, completes the executive leadership team reporting to CEO and president Travis Smith.

  • Liverpool, Boca del Rio, Veracruz (Mexico)

    The beach community locale served as the inspiration for Liverpool's new store in Boca del Rio, Veracruz (Liverpool is Mexico's largest department store chain). The design of the 301,389-sq.ft. store, which took top honors in Chain Store Age's 2014 Retail Store of the Year design competition, utilized the natural surroundings as a reference for the interior's organic shapes, color, textures and patterns, creating a space that balances nature and modernism.

  • Plan to redo Portland’s Lloyd Center is unveiled

    Portland, Ore. — Cypress Equities, the management company for Lloyd Center, has shared its initial plans for updating the historic shopping center in the Lloyd District adjacent to downtown Portland.

    The proposal, which has been submitted to city officials, calls for two entirely new pedestrian entryways designed to provide greater access to the shopping center and to build synergy with the stir of activity along Multnomah Street.

  • Dotcom Distribution launches e-commerce photo service

    Edison, N.J. -- Dotcom Distribution, a provider of fulfillment and logistics solutions, is adding a photography and creative services branch, Dotcom Photo Studio. The studio produces e-commerce imagery for retail brands, including lingerie retailer Adore Me.

  • Abercrombie & Fitch separates chairman, CEO roles

    New Albany, Ohio - Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is separating its chairman and CEO roles and expanding its board's size to 12 members. The teen retailer is also terminating its shareholder rights plan.

  • Crest offers consumers new reason to smile

    Crest has launched Be, a new line of toothpastes that features three new flavors: Mint Chocolate Trek, Vanilla Mint Spark and Lime Spearmint Zest.

  • Chico’s to enter Mexico in partnership with Liverpool

    New York -- Chico's FAS will launch its namesake brand in Mexico, through an exclusive franchise with El Puerto de Liverpool, S.A.B. de C. V. ("Liverpool"), starting with a stand-alone boutique at Perisur Mall, Mexico City, in spring 2014.

    Plans for the Chico's expansion in Mexico include the opening of stand-alone stores as well as branded shop-in-shops in Liverpool department stores. The second stand-alone boutique will open in Villahermosa, Tabasco.
