  • Walgreens opens flagship in iconic Wrigley Building in Chicago

    Deerfield, Ill. -- Walgreens opened a two-story, flagship in the north tower of  Chicago’s iconic Wrigley Building on June 25.

    A unique design, the store’s gradient color pattern and indirect lighting features complement the building’s exterior. A mosaic floor motif of the building’s famous clock welcomes customers as they enter off of Michigan Avenue.

  • Walgreens installs Cree LEDs in Goodyear, Arizona, store

    Durham, N.C. -- Walgreens plans to incorporate energy-efficient LED lighting into its new stores going forward. The drugstore retailer recently installed Cree LED lighting in its 14,820-sq.-ft. Goodyear, Arizona location.

    The 14,820-sq.-ft. store uses Cree’s LED troffers, linear luminaires and downlights, saving the retailer thousands in annual energy and maintenance costs while delivering superior illumination, Cree said.

    San Francisco - Salesforce.com has released Salesforce1 for Retail. Retailers can now leverage Mobile Clienteling and Salesforce Communities for Retail to help build one-to-one relationships with shoppers anytime, anywhere and on any device.
     

  • Sports Authority and 49ers blitz Bay Area

    The Sports Authority enlisted the aid of current and former San Francisco 49ers greats to promote awareness of 18 stores it remodeled recently in the Bay Area.

    Grand re-opening festivities were scheduled for the 18 stores beginning on Saturday, June 28. Each of the remodeled stores features an intuitive design and specialty sport shops with products from top brands like Nike, Under Armour, Adidas and The North Face, according to the company.

  • Walmart shows support of women-owned businesses with new logo

    Washington, D.C. — Walmart, along with the Women's Business Enterprise National Council and WEConnect International, on Wednesday joined forces to establish a unique logo for retail packaging of products from women-owned businesses. The new logo will bring consumer recognition of products provided by women-owned businesses on store shelves both in the U.S. and international markets.
