  • General Mills expands products portfolio

    General Mills is tapping into the latest consumer-driven food trends with its new lineup of products launching this summer.

    Cheerios Protein cereal, Larabar Renola grain free granola, Chex Gluten Free Oatmeal, nacho cheese blasted Old El Paso taco shells, Suddenly Salad made with whole grains, Pillsbury Melts filled cookies and Haagen-Dazs Triple Sensations ice cream are among the more than 150 new products appearing across the U.S. and around the world.

  • EnTouch Controls expands accounts team as part of growth strategy

    EnTouch Controls, a provider of cloud-based energy management services, is embarking on an aggressive growth strategy and to that end has appointed William Rickman as its new director of national accounts.

    Rickman has more than a decade of experience of selling cloud-based financial services and fraud prevention solutions to the restaurant and retail markets.

  • PetSmart investor Longview joins Java in calling for sale

    New York – In a regulatory filing, PetSmart disclosed that its board of directors is considering changes to the company’s capital structure in order to return more capital to shareholders. The disclosure follows a July 3 announcement by activist investor Jana Partners that it holds a 9.9% stake in PetSmart and plans to ask the retailer to explore various options, including a sale.

  • Amazon expands frozen and refrigerated foods footprint

    Amazon is expanding its organic and non-GMO natural food offering with the addition of Green PolkaDot Box Incorporated (GPDB), an emerging online food club.

    The agreement between the companies is intended to take advantage of strategic food offerings developed by GPDB, including frozen/refrigerated goods and proprietary Living Produce. GPDB sales are scheduled to commence on Amazon this week.  

  • Pizza Hut launches omnichannel movie promotion

    Plano, Texas – Pizza Hut is launching an omnichannel summer promotion tying in to the upcoming release of the Aug. 8 “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” live action film. In addition to a custom national television spot and special menu items, the promotion features a number of digital components.

  • Sears appoints new general counsel

    Sears Holdings has named Kristin M. Coleman as SVP, general counsel and corporate secretary. Coleman most recently served as Brunswick Corporation's VP, general counsel and corporate secretary.

  • Gordmans names marketing head; e-commerce head

    Omaha, Nebraska -- Gordmans Stores on Monday announced that Amy Starr Myers has joined Gordmans' executive leadership team as senior VP of marketing. The retailer also announced that Stacey M. Townsend will launch the Gordmans e-commerce business as VP and general manager of e-commerce.

    Myers most recently was vice president of marketing and creative services at Things Remembered, the nation's largest retailer of personalized gifts.

  • Key roles filled at Gordmans

    Off-price department store retailer Gordmans Stores is still without a full-time CEO, but the retailer did just fill two key marketing and e-commerce positions.

    The Omaha-based apparel and home decor retailer named Amy Starr Myers to the role of SVP of marketing and Stacey Townsend was named vp and general manager of e-commerce to launch Gordman’s online sales effort.
