  • Petco launches on-demand product delivery

    Petco is joining the increasingly large group of retailers offering on-demand delivery of their products.

    The specialty retailer has teamed with Instacart in a first-of-its-kind partnership in the pet industry. PetcoNow is a new service that gives pet parents the ability to have Petco products delivered directly to their door in as little as one hour.

  • Are retailers ready for Federal regulations on drones? Amazon is.

    New York -- Federal regulations governing unmanned aircraft systems, or drones, will be in place by this time next year.

    Most retailers won’t be ready, but Amazon says it will be as soon as the feds are. Testifying at a congressional hearing on June 17, Paul Misener, Amazon.com’s VP of global public policy told lawmakers it would be ready to deliver packages via its service branded as Prime Air as soon as federal rules are in place.

  • Godwin plaza in New Jersey to undergo renovation

    Midland Park, N.J. – The 22,000-sq.-ft. Godwin Plaza mixed-use center is to undergo a major renovation and repositioning beginning in the second half of this year. The center was purchased in 2014 by Accordia Realty Ventures of Fairfield, New Jersey with the intention of transforming it.

  • Port delays hurt sales at Hancock Fabrics

    A disruption in product flow because of the West Coast port dispute led to a drop in same store sales for Hancock Fabrics in the first quarter.

    The company had net sales of $61.7 million for the first quarter ended May 2, compared to $63 million in the first quarter of the prior year. Same store sales declined by 1.9%.

  • Smart & Final launches Instacart delivery

    Los Angeles – Discount grocery retailer Smart & Final is offering on-demand Instacart delivery to customers in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay areas. Delivery assortment encompasses Smart & Final’s full store offering, including club-sized items to stock households and offices.

    Delivery will occur in as little as one hour and match Smart & Final’s normal in-store prices, excluding special offers.

  • Petco partners with Instacart on PetcoNow delivery service

    San Francisco - Petco is launching a new on-demand delivery service called PetcoNow, in partnership with Instacart. PetcoNow gives pet owners the ability order from  selection of approximately 13,000 Petco products, delivered directly to their door in as little as one hour.

  • Corner Bakery Café appoints Pepsi executive as marketing head

    Dallas - Justin Lambeth has been appointed as chief marketing officer of Corner Bakery Café.

    Lambeth joins Corner Bakery Cafe following several leadership roles at PepsiCo Inc., where he was responsible for marketing, consumer engagement and shopper marketing for the company's Quaker Division as chief marketing officer.

    Prior to his work with the Quaker division, Lambeth held the role of VP at Frito-Lay, as well as leadership roles at H.J. Heinz and Nabisco Inc.
     

  • Foot Locker races to tell a story

    Foot Locker is teaming up with ASICS on a creative campaign that tells the life story of runners on film.

    The "Real Lives. Real Runners." campaign will provide a platform for runners to capture and share their stories. Building on the successful 2014 "All Runners Welcome" campaign from Foot Locker and ASICS, "Real Lives. Real Runners." invites filmmakers to identify authentic runners and document in a short film why they run and how running impacts their lives.
