Union, N.Y. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that Ollie’s Bargain Outlet has leased 29,423 sq. ft. at the River Plaza shopping center in Union, N.Y.

The Mid-Atlantic’s largest retailer of closeout, surplus and salvage merchandise, Ollie’s will open at the 177,871-sq.-ft., Home-Depot-anchored property in September of this year – filling a key anchor vacancy.

Minneapolis -- Target Clinic plans to open eight new locations in 2011. The in-store centers offer treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, skin treatments, vaccinations, tests and screenings, which are administered by health care professionals.

The new clinics will open in Target stores in the Twin Cities, Chicago and Ft. Lauderdale-Davie areas by the end of July.

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. -- Kohl’s Department Stores announced the grand opening of nine new stores across seven states, which the company said will create more than 1,200 jobs.

The new stores were opened Illinois, New York, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. In addition, Kohl's plans to open a total of approximately 40 new stores in 2011. The company said it also plans to remodel approximately 100 stores in 2011, an 18% increase from 2010.

New York — Walmart will next week start building its first smaller-format Express stores, according to building permits obtained by Bloomberg News.

The chain will begin construction March 16 on a 14,400-sq.-ft. store in Gentry, Ark., which is about 20 miles from the company’s Bentonville headquarters, according to the permits.

Paris -- LVMH announced the appointment of longtime Procter & Gamble veteran Christopher de Lapuente as global president and CEO of Sephora, effective March 31, 2011.

Lapuente joined P&G in 1983. He spent the whole of his career within the company, and in 2004, he was appointed president, the youngest ever in P&G history.

LA JOLLA, Calif. — Kashi announced the launch of its berry blossoms cereal and cherry vanilla cereal bars.

The company said its berry blossoms cereal features pillow-shaped graham cereal squares made with seven whole grains and tossed with a tasty blend of real fruit, including strawberries, blackberries and blueberries.

New York — Lady Gaga's deal to sell a special edition of her upcoming album at Target is off.

A representative for the flamboyant and outspoken singer said Wednesday the two sides "came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago." Last month, it was announced that Target Corp. would be selling a deluxe edition of the album, to be released May 23, with bonus content.

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The South Florida Business Journal  reported Tuesday that Office Depot has dismissed David Grove, SVP contract sales for the company. 

According to the report, Grove's termination was unrelated to company operations, citing an Office Depot statement. Grove joined the company just 14 months ago.

Before joining Office Depot, Grove served in various roles in the office products field including president business interiors at Corporate Express and director of business development at United Stationers.
