  • Shop Your Way unveils Adam Levine menswear collection

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings is launching a menswear collection by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Adam Levine, exclusively at Kmart and ShopYourWay.com beginning Oct. 1.  

    Levine's collection includes premium denim washes, outerwear, wovens, knits and accessories. 

  • Perry Ellis seeks to expand global reach with new hire

    MIAMI — Perry Ellis has appointed Stanley Silverstein as president of international development and global licensing. In this role, Silverstein will be responsible for driving the company's footprint globally across its brand portfolio. 

    Silverstein joins the company from PVH Corporation where he was responsible for driving Warnaco's international expansion during his 29-year tenure. He will report directly to George Feldenkreis, chairman and CEO, and Oscar Feldenkreis, president and COO of the company.

  • Former Macy's California CEO to chair tech board

    SAN FRANCISCO — Mavatar Technologies has appointed Phil Schlein, former president and CEO of Macy's California and partner at U.S. Venture Partners, as chairman of its board of directors. 

  • Brooks Brothers makes itself at home in San Francisco’s Union Square

    Brooks Brothers has opened a flagship store location in San Francisco. At 26,000 sq. ft., Brooks Brothers at Union Square is the second largest retail location in North America.

  • JoS. A. Bank Clothiers beefs up board with former Bon-Ton CEO

    HAMPSTEAD, Md. — JoS. A. Bank has appointed Byron "Bud" Bergren to the company’s board of directors. Bergren will also serve on the audit committee.

    Bergren was formerly chairman of the board at Bon-Ton Stores from February 2012 to June 2013. From 2002 to 2011, he served as president and CEO of Bon-Ton, where he led the company's acquisition of Saks Northern Department Store Group. Bergren received a B.S. degree from St. Cloud State University. He served on the board of directors of the National Retail Federation from 2008 to 2012.

  • Uniqlo announces locations for 10 new mall stores

    New York -- Uniqlo will open 10 U.S. mall stores in October and November, giving it a total of 17 U.S. locations. The new stores are strategically placed surrounding the brand’s current flagship stores on the East and West Coasts (see below for schedule).

    To support its retail expansion, Uniqlo will debut a new, more interactive website this fall.  

    Uniqlo will open four stores in California, three in New York, two in New Jersey and one in Connecticut. Here is the schedule:

  • Old Navy to enter Philippines

    San Francisco -- Gap Inc. will open its first franchise-operated Old Navy stores in the Philippines in 2014. Earlier this year, the company announced that it would begin franchising Old Navy stores internationally.

    Gap will partner with Stores Specialists, which operates Gap brand and Banana Republic stores in-market, to open two Old Navy locations in the beginning of 2014 with plans to open additional stores by the end of the same fiscal year.

  • Urban Outfitters an early adopter of FineLine’s new analytical reporting tool

    Atlanta -- FineLine Technologies Inc. is initializing the rollout of FastTrak Analytics, a web-based solution that provides detailed visibility into variable ticketing supply lead times, with Urban Outfitters among the early adopters of the new analytical reporting tool.

  • Dick’s Sporting Goods to open in Duluth, Minn.

    Pittsburgh -- Dick's Sporting Goods will celebrate the opening of its new store in Duluth, Minn., beginning on Sept. 6.

    The Duluth location will be the retailer's ninth store in the state of Minnesota and its 529th nationwide.

     

  • Uniqlo develops new app

    New York -- Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo has created the free Uniqlo USA app for Apple products. It will be available on Android devices later this year

    By using the app’s Virtual Cam on Uniqlo logos and icons, consumers will have access to behind-the-scenes videos, current employment opportunities, “weekly favorites” and a store locator. They will also be the first to know about new arrivals, designer collaborations, special promotions and more.
