  • Ambassador Town Center to launch construction, development over 90% leased

    Lafayette, La. -- Ambassador Town Center, a joint venture between Stirling Properties and CBL and Associates Properties, will launch construction this month in Lafayette, Louisiana, on a 58-acre site at the corner of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Kaliste Saloom Road.

  • Report: Brazil’s Track & Field to open 10 U.S. stores in 2015

    New York -- Brazilian athletic wear retailer Track & Field has opened its second U.S. store, in Brentwood, California. The retailer operates 122 stores in Brazil and opened its first U.S. store, in New York, approximately four years ago. It plans to open about 10 new stores in the United States in 2015 as part of its next phase of growth, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

  • Kids Rule at Ruum

    Ezra Dabah is no stranger to children’s wear. As the former chairman and CEO of The Children’s Place, he helped create a billion-dollar retail powerhouse. Dabah left the company in 2007, but he returned to the kids fashion business with Ruum American Kid’s Wear, a fashion-forward upmarket concept that bowed in 2012 and operates 24 stores, primarily in malls.

  • Mexx to close all Canadian stores,ops

    Amsterdam, Netherlands – Dutch specialty fashion retailer Mexx, which operates 800 stores across 55 countries, has retained Gordon Brothers Group and Hilco Merchant Resources to begin going-out-of-business sales at all Mexx retail locations throughout Canada. Mexx currently operates 95 retail locations across Canada.    
  • Asics America opens store in Times Square featuring an authentic subway car

      IRVINE, Calif. - Asics American has opened a 4,000 sq.-ft. store in the heart of New York City’s Times Square. Located on 42nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenue, the Times Square location is the second Asics storefront in New York City as well as the largest in the United States.   
  • Finish Line pulls ahead with Q3 income

    Indianapolis – The Finish Line Inc. reported an 11% improvement in net income during the third quarter of fiscal 2014, rising to $2.58 million from $2.32 million. Lower impairment and store closing charges, a slowed pace of growth in cost of sales, and an income tax benefit all helped spur the growth in profit.   Consolidated net sales were $395.8 million, an increase of 9% from $364.45 million. Same-store sales rose 4.5%.
  • Finish Line lowers outlook despite Q3 income

    Finish Line CEO Glenn Lyon cited the company’s struggle to keep up with customer demand for new products even as the firm reported an increase in profitability for the third quarter.

    The company reported an 11% improvement in net income during the third quarter, rising to $2.58 million from $2.32 million. Lower impairment and store closing charges, a slowed pace of growth in cost of sales, and an income tax benefit all helped spur the growth in profit.

  • Dollar Tree to open at East Brook Mall

    Mansfield, Connecticut - Charter Realty and Development has leased space at the East Brook Mall in Mansfield, Connecticut, to Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree has taken 9,733 sq. ft. and will be joining anchor tenants Kohl’s, Dress Barn, TJ Maxx, Michael’s, Olympia Sports, Radio Shack, and Applebee’s.   The 151,377-sq.-ft. center has signalized access from Route 195 (Storrs Road) and services 34,000 student, faculty and staff members of the University of Connecticut and Eastern Connecticut State University.
  • Bebe names interim CEO to the post on permanent basis

    Brisbane, Calif. - bebe stores announded that Jim Wiggett has been named CEO and appointed to the company’s board of directors, effective immediately. He has been serving as interim chief executive since June 2014.  
  • Quiksilver moves to the cloud and standardizes digital commerce with Demandware

    BURLINGTON, Mass. - Demandware, a provider of enterprise cloud commerce solutions, announced that Quiksilver has expanded its relationship with Demandware to roll out the cloud platform on a global scale. The company made the switch from an on-premise solution for improved time to market and to provide a consistent customer experience across multiple brands and geographies, while driving growth.
