  • Starbucks promotes CFO to CFO and group president, Global Business Services

    Seattle -- Starbucks Corp. said that Troy Alstead, CFO and chief administrative officer, has been promoted to CFO and group president, Global Business Services.

    Alstead’s promotion is a recognition of the increasing responsibility and complexity of his role overseeing Starbucks global financial, technology and supply chain operations and ensuring that the company’s overall business infrastructure is optimized to support the company’s global growth.

  • Chili’s to install tabletop tablets from Ziosk

    Dallas -- Chili’s Grill & Bar will bring tabletop tablets from Ziosk to all company-owned restaurants nationwide by the first half of 2014.

    With the primary purpose of enhancing the guest experience, the Ziosk seven-inch tablet will be displayed on each table in the restaurant, giving patrons the ability to interactively peruse menu items and specials as well as order beverages and desserts. Customers can also use the tablets to play games together, share their real-time feedback with the brand and pay the check right at the table

  • Starbucks opens two flagships in Beijing

    Seattle -- Starbucks Coffee Company on Monday opened two flagship stores in Beijing, China. The new Beijing flagship stores were designed by members of the in-house Starbucks global design team and the local Starbucks China Design Studio, one of 18 international design offices worldwide. One store is a “coffee tribute” store at Kerry Center and one is an “eclectic chic” 24-hour store in the Taikoo Li Sanlitun district.

  • A&G Realty brings in senior managing director

    Melville, N.Y. — Mike Matlat has joined A&G Realty Partners as senior managing director in the Melville, N.Y., office. Matlat comes to A&G from DJM Realty, bringing 20 years of real estate expertise in managing special non-retail projects.

    In his new role, Matlat will expand A&G’s real estate advisory services into the hospitality, industrial and residential sectors. He has achieved more than $500 million in sales of warehouse, industrial, hospitality and residential space.

     

  • Kay Jewelers opens at Plymouth Meeting Mall

    Plymouth Meeting, Pa. — Kay Jewelers has opened a 1,400-sq.-ft. store at Plymouth Meeting Mall on the second level, just inside the mall nearest the restaurant plaza entrance.

    Owned, managed and leased by Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust www.preit.com, the mall is anchored by Macy’s, Boscov’s and Whole Foods Market and Café.

    Uncle Julio’s Fine Mexican Food Restaurant will also open at Plymouth Meeting Mall during the 2013 holiday season.

     

  • McAlister’s Deli to develop 17 restaurants in Indiana, Georgia, and South Carolina

    Alpharetta, Ga. -- McAlister's Deli announced plans to develop 17 restaurants in Indiana, South Carolina, and Georgia as part of new multi-unit development agreements with two existing franchise groups.

    Canton, Mass. – Dunkin’ Brands plans to open 17 new franchise Dunkin’ Donuts stores in west and central Texas in the next several years.

  • Maui Wowi Hawaiian opens Peoria shop

    Greenwood Village, Colo. — Maui Wowi Hawaiian plans to open a shop in Northwoods Mall in Peoria, Ill. Slated to open in early October, the new Maui Wowi franchise shop will continue the brand’s expansion in Illinois.

    Maui Wowi currently has more than 450 operating units in seven countries.
