A key player in Under Armour’s effort to increase sales of women’s goods is leaving to join Starbucks Corp. But first she has to learn how to serve up espresso.
The coffee giant announced that it has appointed Leanne Fremar, most recently senior VP, executive creative director for Under Armour’s women's and concept divisions, as senior VP, executive creative director. Fremar’s position is effective in October. But it begins with a three-week in-store barista and coffee immersion around the globe.
Fremar will lead the creative development of all Starbucks global brand initiatives and marketing campaigns, including, digital creative, packaging, as well as oversight of the branding, creative and marketing of Starbucks Roasteries and the Reserve brand.
“Leanne brings 20 years of marketing and creative expertise from some of the most iconic and admired apparel and fashion brands,” said Sharon Rothstein, global chief marketing officer, Starbucks. "Her strategy, vision and dynamic leadership will guide us into the next evolution of creative expression at Starbucks.”
Prior to Under Armour, Fremar held senior positions at Theory, Gucci Group, and Polo Ralph Lauren. She began her career in New York City at The Museum of Modern Art.
