Lyft partners with DoorDash in new membership offering
Rideshare service Lyft Inc. is providing a new paid membership option that links to on-demand delivery platform DoorDash.
Lyft is introducing Lyft Go, a paid program that offers credits members can put toward future ride costs and features a premium option that connects to the DoorDash DashPass subscription offering. The core Lyft Go membership costs $4.99 a month and offers 5% back in Lyft credits, redeemable on Lyft rides, as well as relaxed cancellations and automatic round up & donate donation matching.
For $9.99 a month or $96 a year, Lyft offers Lyft Go with DashPass, which provides 8% back in Lyft credits that can be used for future rides or DoorDash delivery orders. Members will automatically be enrolled in DashPass, which provides benefits such as $0 delivery fees, reduced service fees and exclusive savings on eligible orders, without paying the DashPass membership fee of $120 a year.
“At DoorDash, we're always looking for new ways to deepen the value we bring to our members,” said Rob Edell, VP of DashPass, DoorDash. “Millions of people already count on DashPass to save on dinner, groceries, and retail, and our continued partnership with Lyft takes that even further, turning your everyday rides into everyday rewards. With a ride now earning you credits toward your next order or Lyft ride, it's just one more way DashPass is becoming your all-access pass to everyday life, helping you save on what matters most.”
In addition, new and existing DashPass members will be able to link their accounts to Lyft Go at no added cost. And on select trips, all Lyft riders, with no membership required, will be able to browse nearby DoorDash restaurants in the Lyft app and start an order before their trip ends.
DoorDash has an existing DashPass partnership with Lyft that includes discounted Lyft Black premium rideshare service to DashPass members who place a restaurant reservation through DoorDash. The collaboration began in 2024 with DashPass members receiving exclusive monthly benefits to save on Lyft services, including 5% off on-demand rides and 10% off scheduled airport rides, and Lyft users having access to a three-month free DashPass trial for new members.

"Lyft is already part of millions of people’s everyday lives,” said Siddharth Patil, chief rideshare officer, Lyft. “Now we’re showing up for more of the moments that matter. With Lyft Go, your ride to work or your ride home from the airport can help cover the cost of dinner. Together with DoorDash we’ve created a best-in-class membership program that raises the bar for the industry."
Beginning Nov. 5, riders can join either tier of Lyft Go directly in the Lyft app and start with a one-month free trial. Existing members of the Lyft Pink membership program will be notified in advance and automatically transitioned to Lyft Go with DashPass with no changes to their current price, with the option to activate DashPass in the app. They can opt to cancel in the app before their renewal date. The Lyft Pink All-Access program is not changing, and those members will keep their current benefits.
DoorDash has entered a definitive agreement to purchase Instacart in a transaction valued at roughly $17 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, expected to take effect in late 2027 or early 2028 pending regulatory approval, Instacart shareholders will receive $65 per share.
