Giant Eagle partners with Instacart for fast delivery

Giant Eagle is offering online delivery with Instacart.

Giant Eagle customers will be able to have online orders delivered in as fast as one hour via a new collaboration with Instacart.

The regional food, fuel and pharmacy retailer is rolling out a chainwide partnership with grocery technology company Instacart to provide same-day delivery in as fast as an hour from more than 200 of its grocery stores across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West VirginiaIndiana, and Maryland.

Giant Eagle will also integrate Instacart-hosted delivery into its myPerks loyalty program, which includes more than four million households and over 14 million consumers. on the Instacart app. The service is available to Instacart customers in central Ohio and Indianapolis immediately and will expand to all Giant Eagle and Market District stores in the future.

The grocer also offers a proprietary online delivery service. Same-day delivery is available now on the Instacart app from more than 20 Giant Eagle and Market District supermarkets across central Ohio and Carmel, Ind., and will roll out to all Giant Eagle and Market District locations in the future.

In addition, the companies plan to enable Instacart customers in Ohio to order alcohol online for delivery from participating Giant Eagle and Market District locations in the coming months. To begin shopping from Giant Eagle and Market District for same-day delivery via Instacart, customers can visit the dedicated Giant Eagle or Market District storefront on the Instacart site or app.

For all orders, an Instacart shopper will pick and deliver the order within the customer's chosen delivery time frame.
