JCPenney competes with Prime Day via new summerlong savings event
JCPenney is launching its summer sales promotion five days before Amazon’s annual Prime Day sales extravaganza, which takes place on Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17, as well as Macy’s first All-Star Week event running July 16-23.
The department store retailer's event come after Target Corp.’s Target Circle week promotion, which ends on July 13, and Walmart’s summer sales event, which runs July 8 through July 11. It also follows Kohl’s four-day sales event, which ends on July 11.
In addition, JCPenney is competing with an ongoing omnichannel back-to-school sale at Target.
