Instacart launches new suite of AI grocery solutions
Instacart is releasing a set of artificial intelligence-based enterprise tools specifically designed for grocery retailers.
The grocery technology company is introducing Instacart AI Solutions, designed to extend its technology capability across online storefronts, store shelves, and shopping carts. The tools are built on Instacart’s existing enterprise offerings, including the Storefront Pro e-commerce solution, Carrot Ads retail media solution, and connected in-store devices like Caper Carts smart carts.
The Instacart AI Solutions suite will focus on five key areas:
Agentic commerce - Through partnerships and ongoing efforts with generative AI companies, Instacart is integrating its e-commerce capabilities across the next generation of digital agents.
AI assistant – Instacart’s new Cart Assistant solution delivers AI-enabled omnichannel support for grocery shopping activities such as meal planning and product recommendations. The solution learns with every interaction across online and in-store channels. Kroger and Sprouts Farmers Market are among the first grocers to deploy Cart Assistant.

In-store intelligence – The Instacart Store View tool provides real-time visibility into store shelves, providing actionable insights with AI and computer vision. Integrated with Caper Carts, it offers continuous inventory tracking and heat mapping, helping retailers improve accuracy, reduce friction, and keep products in stock.
Catalog intelligence – The Instacart catalog intelligence tool, known as Catalog Engine, is designed to help retailers create better product catalogs with nutrition, ingredient, and product data.
Agentic analytics - Instacart’s agentic AI architecture can be layered into a retailer’s existing data stack, enabling teams to ask complex questions and get answers in seconds.
Over time, Instacart says it expects every generative AI company to connect seamlessly into its grocery engine, linking Instacart’s consumer reach with its network of retail partners in an effort to drive incremental demand.
"AI is transforming how people shop for groceries and feed their families, and Instacart is uniquely positioned to help retailers - from national chains and regional favorites to local independents - harness that change and drive meaningful results for their customers and business," said Chris Rogers, CEO of Instacart. "These new AI solutions mark the next chapter in our enterprise story - empowering retailers to turn generative and agentic AI into a true competitive edge."
Based in San Francisco, Instacart partners with more than 1,800 national, regional, and local retail banners to facilitate online shopping, delivery and pickup services from nearly 100,000 stores across North America.
