Giant Food joins Super Bowl ‘homegating’ team with P&G

A second grocery division of Ahold Delhaize USA is partnering with leading CPG provider Procter & Gamble (P&G) to aid consumers hosting at-home Super Bowl celebrations.

Mid-Atlantic grocer Giant Food is following in the footsteps of sister Ahold Delhaize USA brand Stop & Shop in collaborating with P&G to launch a dedicated “homegating” page with exclusive recipes, shopping lists and videos on its e-commerce site.

The page includes four original recipes with exclusive instructional videos, from celebrity chef and restaurateur Tiffany Faison. Former Baltimore Raven Steve Smith Sr. has created a unique Spotify “Pump-Up” playlist available on the homegating page for customers to download.

In addition, the page features homegating tips, as well as direct links to purchase select P&G products, such as razors, deodorant, and antibacterial dishwashing liquid. Customers can also donate $5.50 at checkout toward local funds supporting hunger relief.

"We're excited to partner with P&G to offer our customers the full homegating experience – the ability to have fun while safely tuning into the Big Game from home," said Dyani Hanrahan, VP of marketing at Giant Food. "We are also pleased to provide our customers the opportunity to donate to our local food bank partners and support hunger relief efforts as part of this e-commerce experience."

Giant Food is headquartered in Landover, Md., and operates 164 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.
