Former Spice Girl kicking off livestream 'Billboard' book club
The artist formerly known as "Ginger Spice" is helping Billboard launch a new interactive shoppable book promotion.
Geri Halliwell-Horner, who as a member of the legendary 1990s U.K. girl group Spice Girls went by the stage name "Ginger Spice," is the first celebrity author participating in the Billboard Book Club. Based on the TalkShopLive livestream commerce platform, the Book Club officially kicks off Tuesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. on the Billboard TalkShopLive channel and will be simulcast across Billboard’s Facebook and Instagram pages, via TalkShopLive’s exclusive relationship with Meta.
Viewers watching on Facebook and Instagram can comment the word "shop" to receive a link in their direct messages to purchase Halliwell-Horner’s new book, "Rosie Frost: Ice on Fire." The book club will offer regular programming featuring music stars discussing and promoting their latest books via TalkShopLive’s shoppable embedded point-of-sale technology.
"At Billboard, we’re always excited to celebrate and support artists beyond their music," said Hannah Karp, editor-in-chief of Billboard. "Our Billboard Book Club highlights artists as true storytellers while helping fans engage with their favorite acts in new ways."
Hitmaking producer teams with Billboard, TalkShopLive
Music producer and songwriter Benny Blanco partnered with Billboard to launch a new livestream commerce feature from TalkShopLive called Shoppable Simulcast, which enables sellers to seamlessly simulcast shoppable livestreams to their Instagram pages, in March 2024. Bianco sold copies of his cookbook and entertaining guide, "Open Wide."

TalkShopLive has also supported shoppable livestreams for partners including Best Buy, Walmart, Conde Nast, Hearst, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, Reneé Rapp, Noah Kahan, Gracie Abrams, and Sabrina Carpenter across a wide variety of product categories.
"Over the past five years, TalkShopLive has welcomed hundreds of authors to our platform to discuss their books and the inspiration behind them," said Bryan Moore, CEO and co-founder of TalkShopLive. "These livestreams have resulted in thousands of sales for these authors. Now, in partnership with Billboard, we are poised to help countless musicians, journalists, historians and authors succeed in launching books that achieve ‘best sellers’ chart success."
All sales from Billboard and TalkShopLive via TalkShopLive’s book distribution partner, ReaderLink, count toward The New York Times best-sellers list.
