Food Lion enhances curbside pickup with customer location tracking
Food Lion is obtaining real-time visibility into curbside pickup customer arrivals.
The regional Southeast and Mid-Atlantic grocery retailer, a banner of Ahold Delhaize USA, is deploying the Flybuy AI-based location engine to support the operation of its Food Lion To Go curbside pickup program

This completes the full-scale integration of Flybuy across all 1,650 Ahold Delhaize stores. Once a curbside order is placed through the Food Lion app, Flybuy is aware of the customer journey as they make their way to the store for pickup, enabling store associates to prepare the order for a timed timed handoff upon arrival.
The solution is designed to provide store associates with accurate estimated times of arrival and arrival alerts, to improve speed of service. Intended results include reducing wait times, ensuring fresh groceries are provided, optimizing parking and staging area use, and expanding availability of pickup timeslots.

This boost in speed and reliability has led to a rise in customer satisfaction, with csutomers rating their curbside pickup experience an overall 4.8 out of five stars.
