Primark opened a mixed-use showroom in New York City’s NoHo neighborhood ahead of its Herald Square flagship debut.

Primark opened an interactive showroom in the Big Apple, building excitement for the upcoming opening of its first-ever Manhattan flagship location.

Just in time for the holidays, the global fashion retailer opened the doors to its “Primark Studio,” a mixed-use showroom in New York City’s trendy NoHo neighborhood. Open weekends Nov. 15 through May 2026, the 1,000-sq.-ft. store boasts a colorful, fun design and carries between 30-40 display-only SKUs in a wide array of sizes, enabling shoppers to engage with merchandise.

The space is categorized into “zones,” including the “Trend Room” which highlights featured styles and merchandise; a hospitality section that features a lounge with couches and coffee tables, and a multi-use cafe. There are also Instagram-influenced designs and fixtures, including a New York City-inspired subway display teasing the debut of Primark’s Herald Square flagship set to open in April.

“We looked at space in different Manhattan neighborhoods, including SoHo, the Meatpacking District and Chelsea, but this area stood out,” Julia Rosenthal Nayer, Primark’s U.S. marketing lead, told Chain Store Age. “This neighborhood feels ‘very retail,’ and we designed this space to highlight a gallery/studio feel, which fits very well in this area.”

To drive shopper excitement and foot traffic, Primark will change merchandise collections and engagement activities every couple of weeks. Currently the space highlights its autumn and holiday collections, personal color analyses, live entertainment, and a coffee bar featuring seasonal beverages and snacks.

Inspiration for the space came from Primark’s successful pop-up debut this fall during New York City’s Fashion Week.

"We launched a one-day immersive experience to introduce our brand to the public,” Rosenthal Nayer said. “We had hours-long lines and the space gave us the chance to engage with our customers in real life.”

The Primark Studio will also host different events including a denim customization bar, fitness classes, panel discussions and its free in-store “Love It Longer” repair classes. The retailer will also introduce plenty of Instagram-ready designs encouraging shoppers to post and share their Primark Studio experience.

Primark is also considering how to leverage the studio for unconventional opportunities, including hosting podcasts with fashion influencers.

“All opportunities are on the table,” Rosenthal-Nayer said. “The space enables us to differentiate ourselves, highlight Primark’s affordable style and drive brand equity.”

It will also serve as recruitment headquarters where it will conduct interviews to staff its Herald Square flagship. Primark’s first-ever Manhattan location, which will be 54,000-sq.-ft., will be located across the street from Penn Station. The store is slated to open its doors in April.

In total, the retailer currently has 18 signed leases, which includes four new deals blazing Primark’s entry into Minnesota, with a store at Mall of America in Bloomington. The other new leases are for locations Brandon Exchange, Brandon, Fla.; Vineland Premium Outlets, Orlando, Fla., and Sugarloaf Mills, Lawrenceville, Ga.

Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark has 450 stores across 17 countries in Europe and the U.S. Nationally, Primark operates 33 stores across 13 U.S. states, including recent openings including El Paso, Texas; Memphis, Tenn., and Jersey City, N.J. In addition to clothing for men, women and children, stores sell beauty, homeware and accessories.
