L.L.Bean to open rotating SoHo pop-up
L.L.Bean is helping customers gear up for the fall and winter months with a pop-up storefront.
The Maine-based outdoor lifestyle apparel retailer is opening its first-ever "residency" in in New York City. For six weeks beginning Oct. 18, L.L.Bean will transform a SoHo storefront (416 W. Broadway) into an immersive, shoppable experience that will feature weekly events and programming, an assortment of fall wardrobe essentials, free product personalization, limited-edition product, vintage drops and more. The initial emphasis will be on flannel.
“As the season unfolds, the Residency’s retail assortment will expand beyond flannel to new discoveries each week, including sweaters, outerwear, holiday must-haves and a cozy selection of cold-weather accessories as well as free seasonal customer events, limited-edition products, special guests and more,” said the retailer.

L.L.Bean’s full residency schedule includes:
- Free Embroidery (Oct. 18, Oct. 25-26, Nov. 1-2) Guests can transform their L.L.Bean classics into one-of-a-kind pieces with free embroidery provided by Abbode. (Embroidery is free with purchase and is available on a first come, first served basis.)
- Halloween (Oct. 22-31) Experience Halloween with L.L.Bean, complete with a nonstop reel of fan-favorite movies and spooky mocktails.
- Harris Tweed Collection (Nov. 1-9) Shop exclusive, limited-edition pieces from L.L.Bean’s partnership with the Harris Tweed brand.
- A Vintage Collection by Wooden Sleepers (Nov. 14-16) Guests can shop with renowned American vintage curator Brian Davis, owner of Wooden Sleepers, who will showcase the craftsmanship and heritage behind the L.L.Bean legacy through his curated vintage L.L.Bean goods.
- Holiday Gift Giving (Nov. 19-30) Visitors can celebrate the holidays with L.L.Bean with free in-store refreshments and charm bar while they shop for holiday gifts.
For the six-week period, the SoHo residency will be open Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Founded in 1912, L.L.Bean operates 65 stores in 19 states across the United States, along with 25 stores in Japan and 14 stores in Canada, in partnership with Jaytex Group.
