  • Walmart, Starbucks join global initiative for renewable energy

    Nine large U.S. companies on Wednesday committed themselves to achieving a major sustainability goal — and three of them are retailers.

    Walmart, Starbucks and Nike are among the firms joining RE100, a global initiative led by The Climate Group to engage, support and showcase influential businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity. Other firms joining the campaign include Goldman Sachs, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Salesforce, Steelcase, Voya Financial.

  • First Look: Nike, The Grove, Los Angeles

    Nike has opened a soaring, one-of-kind flagship to spotlight some of its most innovative merchandise.

    The three-level 31,000-sq.-ft. store, at The Grove in Los Angeles, is one of the largest in the company’s portfolio. It features a number of elements designed to celebrate the City of Angles and to serve athletes, starting with a huge “We are LA” mural that spans all three floors and is made up of thousands of icons reflecting Nike’s heritage, local sports teams and California-centric imagery.

  • Dick’s Sporting Goods on the move again

    Pittsburgh – Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. continues to expand its portfolio.

    The retailer plans to open three new stores Sept. 11. Two of the stores will be located in Alabama and one in Arizona.

    Dick’s will open its 13th and 14th stores in Alabama at the Shoppe at Legacy Park in Tuscaloosa and Cullman Shopping Center in Cullman, and ninth store in Arizona at Wilmot Plaza in Tucson. Dick’s will have 628 stores across the U.S. with these openings.

  • NFL stars work out their issues for Foot Locker

    Just in time for football season, Foot Locker has launched a new video campaign starring two of the best receivers for the New York Giants.

    The New York-based specialty athletic retailer has unveiled "Thoughts," a new commercial starring New York Giants wide receivers Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham, Jr., highlighting the brand's back-to-school campaign.

  • Abercrombie names new brand leadership team

    New Albany, Ohio - Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has named a new brand leadership team the retailer hopes will collectively help drive the Abercrombie brand forward.  

    The new brand leadership team includes the following executives:

    • Stacie Beaver, general manager for Abercrombie Womens. Having held a variety of senior positions at Abercrombie for more than 15 years, Beaver most recently led the Bottoms business for men and women across Hollister and Abercrobmie.

    Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has formed a new brand leadership team to help drive the struggling company forward.

    Nike has made over its Seattle flagship with a more contemporary look and technology that help customers select running shoes that are the perfect match for their feet and gait.

    A complete revamp has put a new focus on freshness and customer engagement at Strack & Van Til.

    Nike has made over its Seattle flagship with a more contemporary look and technology that help customers select running shoes that are the perfect match for their feet and gait.

    The store features such unique design elements as a custom neon sculpture celebrating sport icons and the city's cultural symbols. An art installation signed by Seattle Seahawks players honors Seattle's sports fans.
