  • HSN, Inc. taps Elizabeth Arden exec as finance chief

    HSN, Inc. has appointed Rod Little as CFO, effective January 3, 2017.   Most recently, Little served as executive VP and CFO of Elizabeth Arden, where he led the company’s global finance and IT organizations and was instrumental in a turnaround that restored revenue growth and profitability, ultimately resulting in the company’s sale to Revlon.  Prior to that, Little was CFO for Procter & Gamble’s multi-billion dollar global salon professional division.

    Cataloger and online retailer Ballard Designs, a division of HSN, Inc., is looking to engage customers with a new retail experience that emphasizes customization.

    Two non-traditional retailers are on the hunt for space to set up shop in the Big Apple.   QVC and Cornerstone, a division of HSN, are looking for real estate to open stores in the Herald Square area of Manhattan, the New York Post reported.  
  • HSNi in a technology first

    HSN has become one of the first retailers with a fully functioning augmented reality app for tablets and mobile devices.   HSN has launched an augmented reality design app across two of its home and lifestyle brands in its Cornerstone portfolio: Frontgate and Ballard Designs. The technology, powered by augmented commerce provider Cimagine, allows users to virtually place desired objects in their own homes, and engage with more than 1000 home décor and furnishings.

    HSN’s CFO and COO is taking a new job, but she won’t have to travel far.   Judy Schmeling has assumed the helm of the Cornerstone Brands division of HSN, which consists of home and apparel banners such as Frontgate, Garnet Hill, Grandin Road and TravelSmith.    Schmeling, who will continue to report to HSN CEO Mindy Grossman, will maintain her COO position at HSN, and she will remain CFO until a successor is appointed.
