  • Disney World area center sells for $29.5 million

    A 44,095-sq.-ft. center serving the Disney-planned community of Celebration, Florida, has been acquired by Ben Hur Investments of New York for $29.5 million.
  • Food and bed highlight OKC center’s expansion

    Three restaurants and a hotel claimed four of the seven new out-parcels The Market at Czech Hall in Oklahoma City.   Developer GBT Realty announced that Hooters, Arby’s, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, and Sleep Inn have signed leases at the 160,000-sq.-ft. “regional neighborhood center” on Interstate 40.

  • Arby’s sees big savings in energy reduction

    Arby’s Restaurant Group has exceeded its own goal for energy reduction, and also cut its water consumption, for a combined energy-related savings of $20.4 million from 2011-2015.

    The company announced that as of Dec. 31, 2015, it reached 15.2% total energy reduction per company-owned restaurant from a 2011 baseline, exceeding the “15 Percent By 2015” energy savings goal the company set for itself in 2012.

    In addition, Arby’s achieved an 8.6% reduction in water consumption per company-owned restaurant from 2011-2015.

  • Arby’s looks to theme park industry for new IT chief

    Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. is naming Darla Morse as new CIO, effective April 18.

    Morse will report directly to Paul Brown, CEO. She joins Arby’s from SeaWorld, where as CIO she led the technology teams supporting all 12 SeaWorld parks and corporate headquarters. Morse has more than 22 years of total technology experience, with previous positions in a variety of roles for Walt Disney World.

    Ann Arbor, Mich. - Customers are less satisfied with fast food as their discretionary income improves and preferences shift in favor of quality over price.

    According to new data from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), two new entrants to ACSI debut at the top of limited-service (fast food) restaurants: Chick-fil-A and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

  • Arby’s on track for 15% energy reduction by end of 2015

    Atlanta -- Arby’s Restaurant Group, franchisor of the Arby’s brand, announced that it has reached an 11%  total energy reduction per company-owned restaurant since 2011, paving the way to a goal of 15% energy reduction by the end of 2015. This follows a 2014 reported reduction of 3.3% in average year-over-year energy consumption per company-owned restaurant.
