C-Suite Moves: August update
Here are the major C-suite changes that occurred in August, starting with the most recent. (All changes have already taken effect unless otherwise noted.)
•Nike Inc. appointed Walmart veteran Jane Ewing to the role of chief commercial officer – more than a year after eliminating the position. Ewing joins Nike after almost 14 years at Walmart, where she most recently served as interim CEO for Sam’s Club China
•Veteran retailer Michael Francis has been named president and CEO of Gap’s Inc.’s Old Navy banner, effective Nov. 2. Francis, who joined Gap Inc. in March 2026 as chief customer officer of Old Navy and head of marketing shared services. Francis is best known for his role at Target, where, as chief marketing officer, he played a key role in creating the discounter’s “cheap chic” image.
• Kohl’s promoted chief digital officer Arianne Parisi to the role of chief customer officer as it consolidates marketing, digital and more under one executive. Chief marketing officer Christie Raymond will depart the company in September.
•Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. appointed Jerry LeClair as CEO. LeClair, who has served as interim chief since February, succeeds longtime Brookshire executive Brad Brookshire who retired last year.
•Skims, the shapewear and intimates brand co-founded by TV superstar and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian, promoted Kim Schraub to the role of chief brand officer, in addition to appointing Erin Magee as its new chief design officer.
•Adrian Butler was named executive VP and chief technology officer of Victoria’s Secret & Co. Prior to Victoria’s Secret, Butler served as CTO of Foot Locker, from June 2023 to April 2026, and as CIO of Casey’s General Stores, from 2020 to 2023.
•Albertsons Cos. tapped Emily Turner as senior VP, chief marketing officer. Most recently, she served as chief marketing officer of North Carolina-based specialty grocer The Fresh Market for almost two years. Previously, she spent two years at Dollar Tree serving in multiple roles.
•Collins Krug was named next chief marketing officer of activewear brand Vuori, effective Monday, Oct. 5. She joins the company from Abercrombie & Fitch, where she spent nearly eight years, including the last four as chief marketing officer.
•Ranju Das, chief AI and technology officer of Lululemon Athletica Inc. left the activewear brand after less than year. The departure was reported in a company filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
•Shoe Station Group Inc., formerly known as Shoe Carnival, named Tracy Dick as chief marketing officer.
•Ted Decker, CEO of The Home Depot, took a temporary medical leave of absence. He is expected return within the next few months. During his leave, Ann-Marie Campbell, senior executive VP, will provide oversight of Home Depot's day-to-day operations, while Richard McPhail, executive VP and CFO, will provide oversight of the company's financial management and Pro subsidiaries.
•The Kroger Co. named Nate Faust as executive VP and chief e-commerce officer. Faust, who most recently spent three years as the founder and CEO of e-commerce and logistics delivery startup Olive, is the co-founder of mass merchandise e-commerce marketplace Jet.com. After Jet.com was acquired by Walmart in 2016, Faust served as senior VP of Walmart U.S. e-commerce supply chain.
•Chandhu Nair was named to the newly created role of chief AI officer of Target Corp. Most recently, Nair served as senior VP of stores, data, AI and innovation for Lowe’s Cos.
•Destination XL Group Inc. (DXL), parent company of DXL Big + Tall and Casual Male XL, appointed Lionel Conacher, chairman of the DXL board, as interim CEO. His appointment follows the previously announced retirement of CEO Harvey Kanter.
•Parag Desai, senior VP and chief strategy and digital officer, will retire from Genesco, parent company of Journeys, Johnston & Murphy, Schuh and more, effective Oct. 3.
•Best Buy Co. appointed Anne Bramman as executive VP and CFO. Prior to joining Best Buy, Bramman served as CFO of consumer analytics company Circana. Bramman also served as CFO of Nordstrom from 2017-2022.
