  • Toys 'R' Us launches omnichannel holiday promotion

    Wayne, N.J. –- Toys 'R' Us Inc. is releasing The Great Big Christmas Book, the company’s annual holiday gift guide. More than 8 million Toys 'R' Us customers will receive a special edition of The Great Big Christmas Book, with deals valid Sunday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 22, plus several “Ultimate Wish Saturday” events to be held throughout the month.  
  • Report: Amazon uses Facebook feedback to rate holiday toys

    Seattle –- Amazon.com is reportedly using feedback collected from its “Amazon Moms” Facebook group and other corporate Facebook pages to help create promotional lists of holiday toys.  
  • Build-A-Bear opens NYC holiday pop-up

    St. Louis -- Build-A-Bear Workshop is opening a new store location in the Brill Building in Times Square in New York City on Tuesday, Oct. 28. This seasonal pop-up shop offers an assortment of proprietary products, licensed properties and New York City-themed merchandise.   
  • 1-800-Flowers net loss continues in Q1

    Carle Place, N.Y. –- 1-800-Flowers.com reported a net loss of $4.58 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2015, a slight improvement from the $4.64 million net loss reported in the same quarter a year earlier. Expenses drove the company’s net loss.

  • Shoppers adjust behavior due to breaches

    New York -- As the holiday season approaches, shoppers are apprehensive about the rise in credit card breaches at major retailers and adjusting their shopping behavior accordingly. According to a new survey from TheStreet conducted by GfK, two-thirds of them are concerned that their credit card and personal information will be stolen whether they shop online or in stores.  
  • Shop.org: Retailers set earlier holiday shipping deadlines

    Washington, D.C. –- Nearly eight in 10 (79%) retailers surveyed will set their standard shipping deadlines for guaranteed Christmas delivery to expire at least a week before the holiday, compared to 74% who said in the 2013 holiday season. In addition, according to Shop.org’s EHoliday survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, approximately one in five (21%) will set those deadlines to expire Dec. 19 or later, compared to more than one-quarter who said so last year (25%).
