    Indianapolis - Simon is bringing back “Lookbook Live,” a joint fashion program in collaboration with Glamour and GQ magazines. Lookbook Live includes print, digital, social media, and live events, for spring and fall 2015.

  • Shoe Carnival steps up same store sales in Q4

    Shoe Carnival credited “favorable weather” with its impressive spike in same store sales in the fourth quarter.

    The Indiana-based retailer of moderately priced footwear and accessories reported that net sales in the fourth quarter ended Jan. 31 increased $27.3 million to $227.6 million, compared to the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013. Same store sales increased 9.5%, which exceeded the company’s guidance for the quarter. Earnings per diluted share were 15 cents.

  • Burlington Stores beats Street with strong Q4; will open 25 net stores

    Burlington, N.J. – Burlington Stores Inc. beat Wall Street expectations for earnings and sales in a strong fourth quarter of fiscal 2014. Reductions in store payroll and advertising helped drive a net income increase of 49% to $94.86 million, from $63.58 million.

    Burlington Stores plans to open 25 net new stores in fiscal 2015.

    Total revenue grew 10% to $1.5 billion from $1.34 billion. Same-store sales rose 6.7%

  • More Nook promotions from Barnes & Noble

    Barnes & Noble is trying to generate excitement around its struggling Nook products with a giveaway tied to social media.

    The retailer says the #NOOKReadingStyle Sweepstakes is designed to inspire book lovers to share their reading style on their Facebook pages and other social media channels. Through March 31, participants can enter for a chance to win exciting prizes, including a $500 Gilt E-Gift Card, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK and 100 $25 Barnes & Noble Gift Cards by completing the sweepstakes entry form on the NOOK Facebook page.

  • March Madness means lots of deals at Hhgregg

    Just in time for spring’s college basketball showdown, Hhgregg is offering a winning deal to customers who shop in-store or online.

    The retailer is offering zero down and no-interest financing until January 2018 on qualifying purchases from now until March 28.

  • Hhgregg launches omnichannel ‘March Markdown’ promotion

    Indianapolis – Just in time for the annual college basketball championship tournament, Hhgregg is running an omnichannel “March Markdown” promotion. From March 16 – April 6, customers can enter up to four times per day via Facebook, online, or by sharing the Hhgregg “Acrobatic Dunk Madness” video.

  • Weather chills February retail sales

    Washington, D.C. – The long winter chill put a damper on consumer spending and retail sales in February. According to data from the National Retail Federation (NRF), excluding automobiles, gasoline stations and restaurants, retail sales declined 0.2% seasonally-adjusted month-to-month, yet were up 3% on an unadjusted year-over-year basis.

    Additional findings from NRF’s monthly retail sales analysis found that:

  • Big Lots gets springy with video campaign

    Big Lots is looking to drive springtime growth with a traffic generating campaign aimed at consumers looking for “shopping discoveries.”

    The retailer is launching its “Shop Big Lots First” campaign to entice consumers to look to Big Lots for their outdoor entertaining needs. Customers will discover stylish, quality outdoor furniture at an incredible value, as well as the name brand grocery products needed to entertain family and friends outdoors, the company said in a statement.
