  • O’Connor Capital and Real Vest close on two shopping center deals

    Boston -- O'Connor/Real Vest Retail Holding Co., LLC, a partnership formed by O'Connor Capital Partners and Wafra Investment Advisory Group, have teamed with The Wilder Cos. to complete transactions that include the purchase of Milford Marketplace in Milford, Conn., and the acquisition of the ownership interest in Phase I of Settlers Ridge in Pittsburgh.

    The centers were developed and managed by Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL Properties.
     

  • Costco to anchor Frisco Trails Shopping Center

    Frisco, Texas -- The Commercial Retail Division of The Weitzman Group announced that Costco Wholesale Corp. will open a 148,000-sq.-ft. anchor store at Frisco Trails Shopping Center, located in Frisco, Texas.

    Frisco Trails Shopping Center is being developed by Cencor Realty Services. The center currently features a Home Depot shadow anchor, and includes space for an additional anchor, as well as six available pad sites for freestanding retail and restaurant uses. Costco will also develop a fuel center on a pad site at Frisco Trails.

  • Miracle Mile Shops opens new and remodeled tenants

    Las Vegas -- Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino said it has added over 50,000 sq. ft. of new and remodeled tenants to the center throughout 2011.

    Multiple new merchants totaling 17,300 sq. ft. are set to open at Miracle Mile Shops, including Guess (June), Pandora (May) and Chinese Laundry (April). Additionally, nine merchants totaling 34,422 sq. ft. such as Victoria’s Secret, Lucky Brand Jeans and Bebe are remodeling existing locations.

  • RKF announces promotions

    New York City -- Robert K. Futterman & Associates announced the promotions of Gary Alterman, Sal Ferrigno, Jackie Totolo and Elyse Bandel in the firm’s New York office.

    Alterman has been promoted to executive VP from senior VP. Ferrigno has been promoted to VP from senior managing director. Totolo has been promoted to director from associate.  Bandel has been promoted to executive VP, marketing & communications, from senior VP, marketing & communications. 

  • Nordstrom makes Delaware debut

    Seattle -- Nordstrom opened the doors to its new store in Newark, Del., on Friday.

    The 123,000-sq.-ft. store, at Christiana Mall, is the first Nordstrom store in Delaware and will offer a well-edited selection of quality, luxury and designer fashion brands for women, men and children.

    "We're thrilled to be opening a store at the Christiana Mall," said Terisha Johnson, store manager. "We look forward to serving the community and providing exceptional shopping experiences for our customers."

  • Dish Network’s bid for Blockbuster gets OK

    New York City -- Blockbuster says a bankruptcy judge has approved Dish Network's $228 million offer for the chain, paving the way for a combination of the two companies.

    Dish won an auction for Blockbuster's assets earlier this week. Judge Burton R. Lifland of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of New York approved the bid on Thursday.

    According to Dish, the deal is expected to close in the second quarter.

  • A Uniqlo opportunity in NYC

    NEW YORK -- Uniqlo, a subsidiary brand of Japan-based Fast Retailing Co., announced that it will open its third New York City location at 31 West 34th Street this fall. The 34th Street store is set to open late in the fall of 2011, following the opening of the company's largest flagshop store on Fifth Avenue in early fall. Uniqlo operates a store in NYC's trendy SoHo neighborhood.


    In conjunction with the news of its NYC expansion, Uniqlo announced plans to hire 1,000 retail associates and 100 supervisors from the local tri-state area.

  • Wingstop to add 20 locations in Atlanta market

    Richardson, Texas -- Wingstop has announced plans to aggressively expand its presence in the Atlanta area. The fast-growing national chicken wing chain plans to add 20 additional locations in Atlanta over the next several years.

    The expansion effort begins with an Atlanta open house April 20-21 where franchise candidates will have an opportunity to learn about Wingstop's plans and meet one-on-one with company executives.

    Wingstop has 480 locations throughout the United States and Mexico.
