  • Bon-Ton Stores closing three stores

    The Bon-Ton Stores announced it will close its Elder-Beerman stores in the Huntington Mall in Huntington, West Virginia and the Lima Mall in Lima, Ohio. The retailer said it will not renew the stores’ leases, which terminate January 31, 2016.

    Additionally, Bon-Ton is closing its namesake store in the Carousel Center in Syracuse, New York, upon its scheduled lease termination on February 28, 2016.

    The company said it does not expect costs associated with the closing of the locations to be material.

  • Loyola University Chicago names Mid-America to represent its retail portfolio

    Chicago -- Mid-America Real Estate Corporation announced it will exclusively represent Loyola University Chicago on their entire retail portfolio on the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses in Chicago, as well as the retail at the base of a proposed Hampton Inn hotel.

    Chicago-based Lakeside Management, NFP manages Loyola’s retail assets totaling nearly 110,000 sq. ft. and will be working closely with Mid-America.

  • DlC Management Corp. announces September leasing deals

    Tarrytown, N.Y. -- DLC Management Corporation announced the company signed 27,684 sq. ft. of new leases in September across five states: Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

    The leases include tenants Carter’s, Creations Barber Shop, Five Below, Great Clips, Jude’s Carryout, Lucky Duck, Nail Bless, New Dragon Restaurant, Quick-N-Clean Cleaners and The Village Bar & Restaurant, ranging from 972 sq. ft. to 8,000 sq. ft.

  • Great Gatherings expands presence in the D.C. Metro area

    Detroit -- X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors, announced that partner, Stokas Bieri Real Estate has negotiated two 10-year leases for Great Gatherings in Virginia and Maryland.

  • Macerich's Vita At Tysons Corner Center receives 2015 Award for Excellence

    McLean, Va. -- Macerich announced that VITA, the new, luxury 30-story residential tower at the mixed-use urban expansion for Tysons Corner in McLean, Virginia, has received the 2015 Award for Excellence from Delta Associates.

  • Creative anchor joins Union Market District

    Washington, D.C. -- EDENS announced Huge, a full-service digital and design firm headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, with offices worldwide, will open a new office at Union Market in Washington, D.C. Union Market is a 45-acre district that is planned for over 7 million sq. ft. of space.

  • Shoe Carnival names retail vet as senior VP of real estate

    Shoe Carnival tapped Jeff Fink as senior VP real estate, effective Oct. 12. He will oversee the company’s store site selection and lease administration functions.

    Fink joins Shoe Carnival with over 27 years of experience in the real estate industry focusing on footwear and specialty retail. Most recently, he worked for La-Z-Boy, as VP of real estate.

    From 2003 to 2014, Fink worked for Jo-Ann Stores as senior VP, real estate and lease administration where he oversaw the addition of 366 stores totaling 2.8 million retail sq. ft.

  • Ross Dress for Less expands in Florida

    Ross Dress for Less will open a new store in West Pembroke Pines, Florida, on Oct. 10.

    The 26,000-sq.-ft. store is located in Westfork Plaza.

    With this new location, Ross will operate 153 stores in Florida. The opening is part of the retailer’s 2015 expansion program, totaling approximately 70 new locations during the year.
