  • C. Wonder makes retail debut

    New York City -- A new concept, C. Wonder, has made its retail debut, opening a 5,000-sq.-ft. store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. The company is on track to open three mall  locations this fall: Garden State Plaza, Paramus, N.J.; The Westchester Mall, White Plains, N.Y.; and Roosevelt Field, Garden City, N.J.  An additional 20 locations are planned for 2010, according to various reports.

  • Timberland to open in Minneapolis

    Stratham, N.H. -- Timberland announced it will open a store in the Calhoun Square shopping district of Minneapolis on Nov. 18.

  • Dick's Sporting Goods opens two New York stores

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners announced that Dick’s Sporting Goods has executed leases and opened stores with affiliates of Forest City Enterprises at two projects in Metro New York.

    A 49,286-sq.-ft. Dick’s opened at Forest City Ratner’s Ridge Hill project in Yonkers, N.Y., anchoring the one million-sq.-ft. center.

    A 35,685-sq.-ft. Dick’s also opened in Staten Island, in a freestanding location in front of Staten Island Mall.

  • Hutton Co. names senior execs

    Chattanooga, Tenn. -- Development, construction, brokerage and property management firm The Hutton Co. said Thursday that Geoff Smith and Bob Elliot, formerly of CBL & Associates, have joined the company.

    Karen J. Hutton, owner of the Hutton Co., will retain her title as CEO and Geoff Smith will serve as president. Bob Elliott has been named VP of Hutton Construction.

  • Cabela’s beats Street with 68.7% profit surge in Q3

    Sidney, Neb. -- Outdoor retailer Cabela’s reported Thursday that profit for the third quarter surged 68.7% to $33.3 million, compared with $19.7 million in the year-ago period. Results surpassed analysts’ expectations and mark the third straight quarter of profit rises.

    Revenue rose 6% to $678.6 million, missing Wall Street’s expected $681.5 million.

  • Dots, Gymboree Play and Music join Westridge Court

    Naperville, Ill. -- Brixmor Property Group announced two retailers will join Westridge Court, located in Naperville, Ill.

    A 4,466-sq.-ft. Dots recently opened at Westridge Court.  And a 4,000-sq.-ft. lease has been executed with Gymboree Play and Music. 

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Westridge Court.

  • Pet Valu to open at Ocean Heights Shopping Center

    Somers Point, N.J. -- Brixmor Property Group announced a 2,400-sq.-ft. lease has been executed with Pet Valu at Ocean Heights Shopping Center, located in Somers Point, N.J. 

    Brixmor, based in New York City, is the owner of Ocean Heights Shopping Center.
     

  • Brixmor names regional executive

    New York City -- Brixmor Property Group said Wednesday it has appointed Thomas W. Litzler as senior VP, central region.

    Based in Chicago, Litzler will serve as the asset manager for the region, directing leasing, property operations and redevelopment activity for 11.7 million sq. ft. of community and neighborhood shopping centers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin.
