Dish Network’s bid for Blockbuster gets OK
New York City -- Blockbuster says a bankruptcy judge has approved Dish Network's $228 million offer for the chain, paving the way for a combination of the two companies.
Dish won an auction for Blockbuster's assets earlier this week. Judge Burton R. Lifland of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of New York approved the bid on Thursday.
According to Dish, the deal is expected to close in the second quarter. -
The Wilder Cos. awarded contract for Wayside Commons
Boston -- The Wilder Cos. said it has been awarded the leasing and management contract for Wayside Commons, an open-air shopping center in Burlington, Mass.
The contract was awarded by UBS Realty Investors of Hartford, Conn.
Wayside Commons is a 195,100-sq.-ft. outdoor center home to one of only three full-line, 30,000-sq.-ft. signature L.L. Bean stores in Massachusetts as well as a mix of retailers including Arhaus Furniture, Coldwater Creek, Eileen Fisher Company Store, Stellabella Toys and Capital Grille.
