    Procter & Gamble has introduced a new ad campaign for its Olay brand featuring Katie Holmes in which the actress encourages woman to be their best beautiful.

    Created in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi New York, Holmes encourages women around the world to be their best beautiful – in their lives and their skincare while featuring Regenerist and other Olay products.

  • IBISWorld: Halloween sales to reach $7.29 billion

    New York -- Total Halloween sales are expected to grow 3% to total $7.29 billion in 2014, due to improving economic conditions and employment levels. According to a new study from market research firm IBISWorld Inc., costume sales are expected to rise 6% to $2.76 billion, spurred by more theme parties and social media photo sharing.  
  • Century 21 to open in Philadelphia

    Philadelphia -- Off-price retailer Century 21 Department Store will open in Philadelphia on Oct. 28, 2014. Century 21 will serve as the anchor tenant of The Gallery, a shopping center undergoing a redevelopment.  
  • McDonald’s launches omnichannel informational effort

    Oak Brook, Ill. -- McDonald’s USA will answer questions from customers through a multichannel effort called “Our Food. Your Questions.” The company invites people to submit their food questions via social media.    McDonald’s will respond with behind-the-scenes webisodes and other social content that provides facts on ingredients, how food is made and how it’s prepared in restaurants.    
  • Plug and Play launches Retail and Brand Meetup Oct. 22

    Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Plug and Play Tech Center is launching its first Retail and Brand Meetup on Wednesday, Oct.  22, starting at 5:30 pm PDT. The free event will feature a panel of marketing experts discussing the future of marketing and the importance of brands and retailers staying in touch with the customer at all touchpoint during a consumers path to purchase.    
  • Maurices adds stores for holiday cheer

    The Maurices division of Ascena Retail Group is rolling toward a footprint of more than 1,000 locations with a new round of stores opening in advance of the holidays.

    Maurices plans to open sixteen locations before November 10 giving the Ascena subsidiary a total of 938 locations. The company contends the U.S. and Canada can support more than 1,300 locations.

  • eBay woos holiday shoppers with global brand campaign

    eBay plans to leverage its latest global brand campaign, called “Shop the World,” to position itself at the forefront of shoppers’ minds during the holiday shopping season.

    eBay’s brand advertising and marketing campaign, which debuts Oct. 13, aims to support sellers by engaging existing eBay users and attracting new ones.
