  • Peapod goes mobile

    Chicago -- Online grocer Peapod is taking its “virtual grocery store” concept on the road in a new promotional campaign. The company unveiled the concept at commuter rail stations in Chicago and the Northeast less than a year ago,

    Peapod, a division of Ahold USA, will field trucks installed with digital billboards of grocery aisles at community recreation centers, coffee sleeves at local cafes, concert venues and other places.

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Kmart is celebrating its inclusion in the summer comedy, “Grown Ups 2” by offering one Shop Your Way member a chance to be an extra in a future Sony Pictures Entertainment film.

    Shop Your Way Members can enter the "Stars of Summer Sweepstakes" now through Sunday, July 21, for a chance to see themselves on the silver screen.

  • Belk gets ready to hit the catwalk

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Belk is partnering with Project Runway’s 12th season to grow its brand. 

    The family-owned and operated department store will be sponsoring this season's accessory wall, as well as a “Modern. Southern. Style.” design challenge that will feature a Belk executive as guest judge. This year's winning designer will have the opportunity to design and sell an exclusive line at Belk.

  • Former Grand Union stores converted to Tops banner

    Williamsville, N.Y. -- Tops Friendly Markets has officially unveiled 12 former Grand Union stores in eastern and northern New York under the Tops banner at grand re-opening ceremonies.

    The new Tops branded stores include stores in Saratoga, Warrensburg, Warren, Franklin, Essex, Clinton and Fulton counties.

  • Former JCPenney exec named VP, communications at RadioShack

    FORT WORTH, Texas — RadioShack has appointed marketing and communications executive Merianne Roth as the company’s new VP of communications.

    Roth's responsibilities will include RadioShack's corporate communications, community relations, internal communications and event marketing. She will report to Jennifer Warren, SVP and CMO.
