  • A.E.O. announces support of FEED Foundation

    PITTSBURGH -- American Eagle Outfittersannounced a campaign in partnership with FEED Projects to launch a new line available at American Eagle Outfitters stores and online that will benefit the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. American Eagle Outfitters is now offering FEED Guatemala bags in more than 400 of its stores across the country. The bags are also available at www.ae.com.

  • Filicia launches bedding line on QVC

    WEST CHESTER, Pa.  -- Home decor expert Thom Filicia has debuted a new line on QVC. 

    Thom Filicia Designs for Living includes an exquisite assortment of top-of-bed pieces, including comforters, pillows, throws and sheet sets priced between $28 and $250.

  • Updated: Toy Fair takes over NYC

    Toy Fair took over the Javitz Center in New York City this week, and amidst the fun was some serious business as toy companies showcased what they hope will be the next big thing. Just take the Sing-a-ma-jigs line from Mattel. Introduced at last year’s Toy Fair, the harmonizing toy was a major holiday hit, and retailers who got their hands on them reaped the benefits.

  • New apparel line offers women more to love at Kmart

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Look out Lane Bryant. An exclusive line of plus-size apparel is launching this month at Kmart under the LYS brand names, which stands for love your style and love your size. The LYS collection is said to feature trend forward separates that are designed to flatter plus-size women of all shapes and sizes including printed halters, skinny jeans and tunic dresses.

  • Going goo goo for Gaga

    Wow! Did you catch Lady Gaga at the Grammy Awards Sunday night? She received the award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album just days after Target announced an exclusive deal that allows fans to download the first single of her new album, “Born This Way,” scheduled for release on May 23. Gaga fans were able to pre-order the new album beginning last Friday through Feb. 26 at www.Target.com/gaga. Target’s exclusive deluxe edition includes three additional studio songs and five remixes, and will be available at stores nationwide and on Target.com.

  • Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Mattel develop Green Lantern toy line

    BURBANK, Calif. — Gearing up for the summer release of superhero flick Green Lantern, Warner Bros. Consumer Products is teaming up with licensee Mattel to help fans fight evil through a new branded toy line.

    WBCP said Mattel will bring "Green Lantern" to life by producing the lineup, which includes:

    • The Green Lantern Ring Blast jet figure and vehicle;

    • The Green Lantern Battle Shifters figures;

    • The Green Lantern Movie Masters figures; and

  • A “Magically Delicious” cereal promotion

    Five limited-edition General Mills brand products hit the cereal aisle at Target stores this week as part of limited duration promotion that features package designs from the 50’s, 60’s and 80’s.

    Brands and the year of the featured packaged design include Cheerios 1956, Trix 1968, Honey Nut Cheerios 1984, Cinnamon Toast Crunch 1984 and Lucky Charms 1989. The package designs were chosen based on a national survey conducted by General Mills.

  • An equal opportunity promoter

    Target took it to some leading brands in its weekly ad on Sunday where it devoted a full page to a side-by-side price comparison between its Up&Up brand and leaders of their respective categories such as Clorox, Similac, Reynolds Wrap, Tums, Jergens and Nyquil. It was the second week in a row Target has promoted Up&Up in its weekly circular except last week, the brand was featured on the cover with a reminder that Up&Up offers “unbeatable prices on over 900 quality products every day.”
