    Akron, Ohio -- Kay Jewelers said it has teamed with wedding site The Knot to launch an interactive wedding ring style quiz on Facebook.

    As part of the promotion, consumers visit The Knot or Kay Jewelers on Facebook and answer questions about personal style and wedding ring preferences. Once complete, participants will receive their wedding ring personality types along with brand suggestions, and will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a pair of wedding bands from Kay.

  • Nutella spreads from store shelves into e-commerce territory

    SOMERSET, N.J. — The Nutella brand is trying its hand at e-commerce with the launch of the Nutella Boutique, which will offer branded apparel and accessories.  

    T-shirts, messenger bags that hold up to nine jars of Nutella — or a laptop — and Nutella spreaders are among the product offerings available on the e-commerce site.

  • Smoothie King plans 1,000 new stores by 2018

    New Orleans -- Smoothie King Franchises is targeting the Jacksonville, Fla., metro area to kick off a major expansion calling for 1,000 new franchised and corporate locations over the next five years.

    With seven stores in Jacksonville, the company plans to add 10 new locations there over the next three years.

    To fuel the national expansion drive, Smoothie King is offering candidates 40% off of its initial franchise fee for the first 40 agreements of 2013 — a savings of $10,000.

    MADISON, Wis. — The Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles, the country’s longest-running mobile marketing campaign, are trying out a different type of mobile space with the brand’s launch of its first-ever Wienermobile Run program.

    Oscar Mayer is leveraging social media to engage existing and would-be fans. First, the brand is encouraging people to visit WienermobileRun.com, where they can join their favorite Wienermobile team. Those who do will receive a team bumper sticker while supplies last, and help their team earn points.
