Toys"R"Us opens early Thanksgiving night to welcome Black Friday shoppers
WAYNE, N.J. — Toys"R"Us has become the latest retailer to join the trend of starting "Black Friday" on Thanksgiving night. The company announced that, for the first time, it will open its doors at 9 p.m. on Nov. 24. On Nov. 24, customers will also find the company's Thanksgiving-weekend circular, whichis filled with more than $12,500 in savings, including doorbusters, Thursday through Saturday discounts and free gift-with-purchase offers, Toys"R'Us said.
“We know our customers like to get an early start on their Black Friday shopping, so we’re offering more savings than ever and providing even more hours to save by opening our stores at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving night,” said Greg Ahearn, chief marketing officer for Toys“R”Us U.S. “Black Friday is truly the kickoff to the holiday shopping season, and we’re excited to welcome customers at Toys“R”Us stores across the country for what has become an annual tradition for many families after Thanksgiving dinner is finished.”
Toys"R"Us announced that its doors will be open through 11 p.m., Nov. 25, giving consumers 26 hours to shop.
Customers who want to get a preview of Toys"R"Us' circular can do so by visiting the company'sFacebook page, Facebook.com/Toysrus, beginning at 12 noon Monday. Toys“R”Us Facebook fans will also have the opportunity to win a red carpet, private shopping experience at their local store before the Black Friday crowd enters.
