  • The power of love is free in September

    Huey Lewis and the News are scheduled to perform a free concert in Fayetteville, Ark. on Sept. 9, in connection with the women’s professional golf tournament known as the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. The Grammy Award winning entertainer will be performing at the M&M’s/Extra Dickson Street Concert. The 8 p.m. concert will be held in the Walton Arts Center parking lot located at 495 W. Dickson Street in Fayetteville.

  • Walmart, Colgate help kids brush up on oral health

    NEW YORK — Walmart is working with Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program to create a new initiative that offers free dental screenings and oral health education to children in need living in the Dallas area.

  • Fresh & Easy makes San Francisco debut

    SAN FRANCISCO  — Fresh & Easy today opened its San Francisco store. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, U.S. Health and Human Services Regional Director Herb Schultz, executives from Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market and dozens of neighborhood leaders were on hand to celebrate the event. The store, is located in the Outer Richmond District at 32nd Avenue & Clement Street.

  • Safeway private label makes record-breaking debut

    PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway celebrated National Picnic Day on Monday by breaking the Guinness World Record for longest picnic table and debuting its new private-label brand.

    The record-setting picnic, held at the Marina Green in San Francisco, featured Safeway's Open Nature, a newly launched line of all-natural foods that includes meat and poultry, bread, yogurt, ice cream and salad dressing products, that were prepared by Food Network chef Tyler Florence. Safeway also succeeded at building a table exceeding 305 ft.

  • Macy's chefs hit the road

    NEW YORK — Macy's announced that its "Macy's Chefs A-Go-Go" food truck tour will kick off in Miami on June 28. The first-ever tour will feature a chef from Macy's Culinary Council at each stop. MCC chefs include Cat Cora, Todd English and Marcus Samuelsson.

  • Wal-Mart makes big donation to New York City summer jobs program

    New York City -- Wal-Mart Stores will donate as much as $5 million to New York City’s cash-strapped Summer Youth Employment Program, Crain’s New York Business reported. The donation will reportedly save 3,400 jobs.

  • Big brand extravaganza comes to Michigan

    The Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 takes place next weekend at the Michigan International Speedway, and Walmart stores near the track are rolling out the checkered carpet to capitalize on race fever. A variety of special events will be held at stores near the track beginning on Wednesday, June 15.

  • Jennifer Lopez to launch new fragrance on HSN

    ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — HSN announced that Jennifer Lopez will launch her new fragrance Love & Light exclusively on HSN on July 2.

    HSN said it is also offering fans the chance to win a private meet-and-greet with Lopez at the HSN set on July 2. The comany is accepting entries via its Facebook page and HSN.com through June 14.

    The prize package will also include:

    • Airfare for a winner and guest

    • Two nights at the historic Vinoy Renaissance Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg, FL
