  • Fashion retailer launches designer ‘Lab’

    Nordstrom is taking new designers under its wing, and giving them some “space” for exposure.   On Tuesday, Feb 21, the department store chain launched “The Lab,” an incubator project that will showcase and support new designers in select stores and online.

  • P.F. Chang’s signs on at Butler Town Center

    Gainesville retail pioneer Butler Enterprises announced the signing of P.F. Chang’s as a restaurant anchor at its Butler Town Center, now under development.   "It's an excellent fit for P.F. Chang's and we're really looking forward to sharing our farm-to-wok food philosophy with the entire Gainesville community," said P.F. Chang’s CMO Dwayne Chambers.  
  • Burlington the latest Sears replacement for PREIT

    Burlington has been announced as the replacement for Sears at PREIT’s Magnolia Mall in Florence, South Carolina. Earlier this month, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Von Maur were introduced as new tenants of Sears spaces that had been recaptured by the Philadelphia-based developer.  
  • Department store chain gets local with in-store shop strategy

    The Bon-Ton Stores is expanding an initiative that gives its network of stores a more local flavor.    The department store retailer will add "Close to Home in-store shops to at least 100 stores this year after a successful launch in 45 stores in fall 2016.   
  • Dick’s Sporting Goods to take former Sears space at Capital City Mall

    Dick’s Sporting Goods will be relocating one of its stores in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, metro to space formerly inhabited by Sears at PREIT’s Capital City Mall.  
  • Walmart throws its hat into the car sales ring

    Walmart is adding a new category to its assortment: automobile sales.    While the chain has always sold tires and accessories, a new partnership with CarSaver, an online auto retail platform, is allowing the retail giant to dip its toe into the car sales industry. The retail giant is setting up CarSaver kiosks at 25 Walmart superstores in Houston, Dallas, Phoenix and Oklahoma City.  
  • Division of high-end chain rewards shoppers with Nordstrom Notes

    Nordstrom is giving shoppers a new way to earn loyalty points.   As of Friday, Jan. 20, Nordstrom Rewards members will earn points toward Nordstrom Notes when they use their Nordstrom credit and debit cards at the chain’s Trunk Club division, a personalized styling service for men and women, offering both virtual and in-person shopping options.   Additionally, Trunk Club will waive its $25 home try-on fee when shoppers order curated trunks of clothing using their Nordstrom card.
