  • Hy-Vee does demos with Interactions

    Leading regional supermarket operator Hy-Vee is expanding its relationship with Interactions to provide experiential marketing services.

    Interactions says it will engage shoppers through experiential marketing events in 50 store locations in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri, with plans to expand to more than 145 stores throughout the year. In addition to planned event services, Interactions will also collaborate with Hy-Vee to develop additional experiential marketing activities, such as new store openings, community events and Hy-Vee branded programs.

  • Foot Locker keeps it real in February

    Interest in basketball heats up in February with the NBA playoffs around the corner and March Madness set to soon begin. To capitalize on the action, Foot Locker is out with a new spot featuring Kyrie Irving as part of its, “It Must Be February,” campaign.

    The 30-second spot, titled "Acting," also stars Ice-T and opens with Irving showing off his latest KYRIE 1 signature Nike kicks, noting that fresh colors will be debuting at Foot Locker stores nationwide throughout the month of February.

    The sweet smell of barbeque will be in the air of central Florida later this month when Sam’s Club kicks of its fifth annual National BBQ Tour with prizes totaling $500,000 and participation from 700 teams.

  • Dick’s goes for gold in Olympic deal

    Free stuff and flexible employment opportunities for athletes are key elements of Dick’s Sporting Goods first ever partnership with the U.S. Olympic Committee.

    The 2016 Summer Games will be held in Brazil in 2016 and to help athletes prepare Dick’s said it would offer jobs and equipment donations at U.S. Olympic training centers.

    The introduction later this month of an exclusive new beauty brand backed by a high profile celebrity is seen broadening Walgreens' appeal with a key shopper segment.

    Walgreens has teamed up with actress Eva Mendes and beauty company Maesa to launch a multi-cultural beauty brand called Circa. The nationwide launch supports Walgreens' desire to increase accessibility to well-priced, diverse, specialty beauty offerings and reflects its commitment to owned brands.

  • J.C. Penney partners with InStyle on new in-store salon concept

    Plano, Texas -- J.C. Penney is partnering with InStyle magazine to reinvent its 850 in-store salons nationwide in a move that could help the retailer pump up its volume and increase traction with younger shoppers. The new concept, called The Salon by InStyle, will make its debut in July, at 15 locations across Chicago, Dallas, Miami and Los Angeles.

    Sales of an exclusive holiday cookbook will allow Dillard’s to donate more than $900,000 to of Ronald McDonald House Charities.   For the seventh year in a row, Dillard's offered for sale a special edition of the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook to benefit RMHC.   
  • Macy’s adds ‘Whimsy’ with Martha Stewart collection

    Macy’s and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia are collaborating on another collection for the home, just in time for the spring decorating season.

    The retailer is launching Whim, an exclusive bedding and dinnerware collection from Martha Stewart available only at Macy’s. Whim will be available on macys.com and in select Macy’s stores starting March. The collection offers comforter sets, sheets and quilts in playful prints and colors, as well as colorful dinnerware.
