    Indianapolis – H.H. Gregg is opening a new store in Bloomington, Ind. on Aug. 15. The new location at 240 North Gates Street will replace the previous location at 606 West Gourley Pike.

  • Hollister launches new online product with Keds

    New Albany, Ohio -- Hollister Co. is partnering with Keds to release an exclusive line that features signature Hollister patterns on Keds sneakers. Beginning Aug. 15, the exclusive Hollister + Keds sneakers will be available only at HollisterCo.com, but customers can view a display inside Hollister stores to see the new patterns.

  • Walmart-led U.S. manufacturing summit on tap next week in Orlando

    Top executives from Walmart, seven governors and more than 500 supplier companies are scheduled to gather in Orlando next Thursday for a first-of-its-kind domestic manufacturing summit.

  • Burger 21 signs first franchisee in Arizona

    Tampa, Fla. — Burger 21 has signed its first franchise agreement in Arizona. The deal will bring the first Burger 21 restaurant in the western U.S. to Chandler, Ariz., expanding the brand’s footprint to nine states.

    The franchisee plans to open in Chandler next year and then to pursue a second unit in Phoenix. To date, Burger 21 has nine open locations and 17 franchised restaurants in development across the country.

     

  • Snack Taverna goes to Hell’s Kitchen

    New York — Snack Taverna, the popular West Village restaurant in New York City, has signed a lease to extend its concept into a 1,100-sq.-ft. space in Hell’s Kitchen, according to Winick Realty Group, which represented the tenant in the transaction.

     

  • NACDS Total Store Expo attendees get a nice dose of Martha Stewart

    NEWARK, N.J. — Inergetics, a developer of nutraceuticals and nutritional supplements, introduced Martha Stewart at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Total Store Expo at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas Monday, August 12. 

    Stewart was there to support the partnership between Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Inergetics, Inc. as well as to promote the launch of Martha Stewart Essentials — a complete line of whole-food-based supplements created with Inergetics, specifically targeted for women.

  • Investor calls for changes at Jos. A. Bank

    New York -- Jos. A. Bank Clothiers on Tuesday came under criticism from BeaconLight Capital LLC, which owns more than 1% of the men’s apparel chain. In an open letter to the company’s board, the investment manager called for a reorganization of the retailer's board and return of cash to shareholders, preferably through buy-backs.
