New York City -- Tiffany & Co. reported Thursday that it has shuffled responsibilities among two of its executive officers, effective immediately.

Patrick F. McGuiness, 45, has been appointed senior VP and CFO. He joined Tiffany in 1990 and has held a variety of management positions within the finance and merchandising divisions. He was promoted to senior VP finance in 2007, and the new appointment adds responsibility for the retailer’s investor relations program.

Washington, D.C. -- A Bloomberg report on Tuesday said that the women who sought to sue Wal-Mart Stores for gender bias on behalf of 1.5 million co-workers said they will continue the fight in smaller lawsuits in lower courts and claims with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday said the women failed to prove that Wal-Mart had a nationwide policy that led to gender discrimination, precluding a class action and forcing the plaintiffs to pursue claims on their own.

Bentonville, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores, announced Monday that the company has completed its investment for a 51% stake in South African-based Massmart Holdings Limited.

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its long-awaited and much anticipated opinion in Dukes, et al. v. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. The Supreme Court reversed, and ruled in favor of Wal-Mart.

CINCINNATI — Kroger announced that it has named Michael Donnelly SVP merchandising. Donnelly has been president of the company's Ralphs Grocery Company division, based in Los Angeles, Calif., since August 2007.

In his new position, Donnelly will lead all merchandising and procurement for Kroger.  

Washington, D.C. -- In a ruling that may mean new limits on class-action suits, the Supreme Court on Monday ruled for Wal-Mart Stores in the largest sex-discrimination lawsuit in history as it put the brakes on a massive job discrimination lawsuit against the chain.
