Best Buy opens first-ever in-store Ikea shops in select locations
Ikea is moving into select Best Buy stores in Texas and Florida.
The Swedish furniture giant and Best Buy Co. are partnering to open an in-store planning and shopping experience at 10 Best Buy stores. The shops are now live at six Best Buy stores, with three more to open in mid-November, and one later this winter. (See list of locations at end of article.)
The in-store Ikea shops feature curated vignettes that combine Ikea home furnishings with Best Buy appliances. Customers can explore kitchen and laundry room spaces and design their own set-ups while also shopping for complementary appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, ranges, dishwashers and washer and dryers.
They can also work with an Ikea U.S. co-worker to plan and design their spaces, while Best Buy "Blue Shirts" staffers can provide their expertise on the latest electronics.
"We’re always looking for ways to better help our customers bring the best experiences to life in their homes, and we’re excited for them to explore Ikea at Best Buy and discover what’s possible when great design meets the latest technology," said Patrick McGinnis, chief merchandising officer at Best Buy.
The in-store Ikea shops are already open in the following Best Buy locations:
•Boynton Beach, Fla.;
•Melbourne, Fla;
•Lakeland, Fla.;
•Waterford Lakes, Fla.;
•Daytona Beach, Fla.; and
•Alamo Ranch, Texas;

In addition, two Best Buy stores – Lakeland, Fla., and Alamo Ranch, Texas, – will serve as pick-up points for Ikea shoppers, allowing customers in these markets to pick up most Ikea U.S. products for free at the Best Buy store, whether those were purchased through an Ikea-Best Buy store-in-store experience or on the Ikea e-commerce site.
Best Buy is also providing a number of other special in-store offers and experiences during the holiday season. These include extending a partnership with Meta that offers customers an expanded in-store shopping experience with AI glasses to all locations, as well as immersive showcase areas and expert support for technology in more than 50 stores.
