Best Buy kicking off holiday promotional season in September

Best Buy Co. Inc. will launch its first official holiday sales event just days after the calendar shifts to fall.

The consumer electronics giant has multiple holidays sales events lined up for September and October 2024, starting with a member-exclusive sale specifically targeting participants in its My Best Buy Memberships loyalty program.

From Friday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 29, members of the My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total tiers will have access to exclusive offers on products, laptops and TVs.

Also both new and existing My Best Buy Plus and Total members who spend $500 or more between Friday, Sept. 27 and Wednesday, Oct. 20 will receive a $50 reward certificate to use on a future Best Buy purchase.

From Monday, Sep. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 13, Best Buy is holding an Apple trade-up event where customers can exchange select Apple devices like Apple Watch, Unlocked iPhone, MacBook, iPad and iMac for savings on new Apple technology products. My Best Buy Plus and Total members will also receive 10% more on select Apple trade-ins.

Starting Thursday, Oct. 21, Best Buy will hold a “Prep for the Holiday” event focusing on products that customers can use for hosting holiday events, such as appliances, TVs, and smart home devices.

And to celebrate the release of the video game “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” the retailer will host a special sale across the gaming selection, including software, consoles and accessories. 

Best Buy is also introducing an in-store PC gaming experience in several cities where customers can demo several titles and the latest in gaming technology. The company says it will unveil a lineup of November savings events in the coming weeks.

Best Buy pursues seasonal marketing strategy

Other special seasonal promotions Best Buy has offered this year include multiple omnichannel campaigns coinciding with the start of the current football season, as well as TechFest, a late August sales blowout featuring all things tech.

Best Buy also hosted as a "Black Friday in July" event to compete with Amazon Prime Day, and provided deals exclusively for members of its My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total loyalty programs in March 2024.
