Amazon partners with Medicare for discount GLP-1 medication access
Amazon continues expanding availability of GLP-1 weight loss drugs.
Amazon Pharmacy is is now delivering GLP-1 weight management medications — including Wegovy (injectable and oral pill), Zepbound KwikPen, and Foundayo — to eligible Medicare patients for $50 per month with free home delivery. Same-day delivery is available in more than 3,100 U.S. cities and towns, with no Prime membership required.
The medications are available for discount purchase and free delivery through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program, a short-term federal initiative running through Dec. 31, 2027, that enables eligible Medicare Part D members who meet specific clinical criteria to obtain weight management prescriptions at a predictable, accessible cost. According to Amazon, many submitted claims have already resulted in complete orders.
How it works
Once a clinician sends an electronic GLP-1 prescription to Amazon Pharmacy, customers can add their Bridge insurance plan and Medicare details to their Amazon Pharmacy account and Amazon Pharmacy handles eligibility verification, prior authorization, and starting the enrollment process on the customer's behalf.
In addition to free home delivery nationwide (including same-day in some areas), eligible customers can also schedule an in-office pickup through in-office, licensed pharmacist-supported kiosks at select One Medical locations, where newly approved Wegovy and Foundayo GLP-1 oral pills are also dispensed.

Other delivery options include caregiver support that allows a trusted individual to manage medications on behalf of a loved one through their own Amazon account. Customers have 24/7 access to licensed pharmacists.
“We want to make sure nothing stands in the way—no confusing paperwork, no prior authorization delays, no waiting at a pharmacy counter,” said Tanvi Patel, VP and GM of Amazon Pharmacy. “Once a patient's clinician sends the prescription, we take care of the rest and deliver their medication to their door.”
Amazon all in on GLP-1
Amazon has been steadily increasing its offerings related to GLP-1 weight loss medications in recent months. In May 2026, the retailer began providing same-day delivery of prescriptions for Novo Nordisk's Ozempic GLP-1 pill, which is the only FDA-approved oral GLP-1 medication to treat type 2 diabetes.
In addition to delivering the Ozempic pill, Amazon also directly offers U.S. home delivery of Eli Lilly’s recently approved GLP-1 medication Foundayo as well as Eli Lilly’s Zepbound KwikPen multi-dose injectable treatment for weight management.
Amazon also recently introduded a nationwide comprehensive GLP-1 management program that integrates medication access options, including Amazon Pharmacy, with personalized primary care that combines GLP-1 medications and ongoing medical expertise.
To order prescriptions through Amazon Pharmacy, customers ask their healthcare provider to send a prescription directly to Amazon Pharmacy, just as they would with any pharmacy, and receive delivery to their doorstep or via an in-office kiosk. Customers nationwide receive free delivery on every medication, regardless of Prime membership.
