Albertsons offers Uber One subscription perks to loyalty members

Albertsons loyalty members can try Uber One at no cost.

Members of both the free and paid Albertsons loyalty programs have access to free trials of the Uber One paid subscription program.

The grocery conglomerate, which initially partnered with Uber to provide online delivery services in 2021 and has been building its collaboration since that time, is now becoming the first major grocer to offer Uber One perks to all 48.7 million members of its free for U loyalty offering and paid FreshPass loyalty program free trial memberships to Uber One.

Members of the for U loyalty program can get a three-month extended free trial of Uber One, while paid FreshPass annual members will receive six months free. Uber One membership perks include $0 delivery fees on food and other orders over the minimum subtotal, up to 10% off eligible Uber Eats deliveries and pickups, and 6% back on eligible Uber rides.

Other recent enhancements to Albertsons’ loyalty offering include "for U Travel," a new travel booking experience based on Expedia technology and services that rewards members of for U with cash back on both air and non-air travel. For U Travel allows customers to plan and book trips directly through the Albertsons banner for U app or website.

"This expanded collaboration builds on the strong partnership we’ve already built between Uber and Albertsons Cos. – and makes shopping not just easier, but more rewarding," said Hashim Amin, head of grocery & retail for North America at Uber. "By bringing Uber One benefits to all of Albertsons Cos. loyalty members, we’re offering even more value and convenience across the experiences customers already love."

As of Sep. 6, 2025, Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons Companies operated 2,257 retail stores with 1,720 in-store pharmacies, 405 associated fuel centers, 22 dedicated distribution centers and 19 manufacturing facilities. The company operates stores across 35 states and the District of Columbia under 22 banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen, Carrs, Kings Food Markets and Balducci's Food Lovers Market.
