Target teams with Taylor Swift — again; 500 stores to stay open till 1 a.m.

Target extends its collaboration with Taylor Swift.

Target Corp. is continuing its business relationship with the world’s biggest pop star.

The discount giant is partnering with a true giant of music and popular culture Taylor Swift — to offer several exclusive versions of Swift’s 12th album, "The Life of a Showgirl," which is set for a midnight release on Oct. 3. A About 500 Target stores are staying opening until 1 a.m. on Oct. 3 to host the release.

For the midnight in-store purchase, physical or digital tickets were to be distributed in the electronics section of the participating Target stores on Thursday, Oct. 2 beginning at 10 p.m. Customers were instructed to return to the designated queuing location with the ticket at 11:45 p.m. to make their purchase, starting at midnight.

In addition to the standard CD and vinyl versions of Swift’s latest album, Target is offering four exclusive products, including a limited run, first-and-only vinyl pressing of "The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd Is Your King" edition for $34.99.  It features an opaque pink and pale-yellow pearlescent vinyl with gold shimmer, a collectible custom gatefold sleeve, a giant double-sided poster, a poem written by Taylor and never-before-seen photos and album lyrics. Preorders are sold out with additional limited quantities will be available, in-store only starting on Oct. 3, while supplies last.

 Other exclusive items include three exclusive CD-with-poster editions, priced $14.99 each. The CDs feature an exclusive poster, album art and lyric booklet.

Target previously partnered with Swift on two exclusive releases, an official "Taylor Swift/The Eras Tour" book and a special edition of "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology" album on vinyl and CD, on Black Friday 2024 and set sales records in the following 10 days.
