A Target-owned online delivery platform is hiring another large batch of temporary employees in time for the holiday rush.

Shipt is adding 50,000 more shoppers to its national network this holiday season after seeing increased, early demand across its business. This latest round of hiring is in addition to the 100,000 shoppers Shipt announced it would be onboarding nationwide in October.

The company is hiring shoppers across the country and is focusing on adding thousands of shoppers in the markets of Detroit, Grand Rapids, Mich., Minneapolis/St. Paul, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. People who become shoppers during the week of Nov. 23 are eligible for a holiday cash bonus during Nov. 25-30, as well as any local incentives.

While Shipt is on track to add the 100,000 shoppers it began recruiting in October, the company intends to bolster its customer service and support continued expansion into new markets and retailers during the holiday season by adding another 50,000 shoppers to its platform.

Over the past six months, Shipt has experienced fast-paced growth, doubling its shopper base, expanding its retailer footprint and growing its membership and customer base. The company launched a nationwide hiring blitz in response to demand surge caused by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March. Since then, Shipt has expanded beyond its core grocery/CPG delivery offering in partnerships with retailers including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Office Depot, and parent company Target; and also introduced a pay-per-order option.

"Shipt Shoppers are serving customers with care and making their lives easier during an unprecedented holiday season," said Shipt CEO Kelly Caruso. "We're excited to add even more shoppers to the community and reward them for their work in helping American families prepare for holiday meals, delight loved ones with gifts and everything in between."
