Sephora designs sales event – and it doesn’t compete with Prime Day

A leading beauty retailer is waiting for Halloween weekend to kick off its omnichannel holiday sales extravaganza.

Sephora is hosting the simply titled “Holiday Savings Event” from Friday, Oct. 30 – Monday, Nov. 9. Unlike many other leading retailers who are running a variety of omnichannel and online promotions timed to directly challenge Amazon Prime Day, being held this year Oct. 13-14, Sephora is avoiding going head-to-head with the e-tail giant’s event.

Members of Sephora’s Beauty Insider free rewards program will be eligible to receive exclusive discounts for in-store and online purchases during the Holiday Savings Event. All members will receive 10% off purchases between Nov. 5 and 9. However, members at the “VIB” level (who spend at least $350 per year) will receive 15% between Nov. 3 and 9, while members at the “Rouge” level (who spend at least $1,000 per year) will receive 20% off between Oct. 30 and Nov. 9.

In addition, Beauty Insider members who are also Sephora credit card holders will receive double credit card rewards between Oct. 30 and Nov. 9. From Friday, Oct. 30 – Saturday, Oct. 31, Rouge-level Beauty Insider members can bring a lower-tier member of the program to a store and let them also have access to the 20% promotional discount on in-store purchases.
