Santa Claus is coming to Sam’s Club – virtually

Sam’s Club is providing members and their children the chance to contactlessly meet with Santa Claus.

The wholesale club retailer is allowing members to schedule virtual sessions for their children to meet with Santa Claus. The free service requires membership in Sam’s Club, as well as a Sam’s Club photo account. Eligible members can book a first come, first served online appointment with a limit of one Santa visit per membership, but multiple children can attend the visit.

To personalize the visit, members can provide details on each child, including their name, age and something they want Santa to mention or ask the child. Members can also select from a diverse range of Santa options (Hispanic, Black, and white) to best meet their family needs.

This is the second virtual Christmas experience Sam’s Club has unveiled for 2020, following the October 2020 introduction of an immersive online shopping environment based on the classic film “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”

Members who book a virtual visit with Santa will also a receive a free photo and video they can share with friends and family, and are encouraged to share them on social media with the hashtag #SamsSanta. Visits will be conducted via the Zoom digital meeting platform, and members will receive a series of confirmation, reminder and follow-up emails after booking an appointment.

If a member is unable to book a visit because they were all reserved, the Sam’s Club website also offers kids activities, such as creating and sending a letter to Santa with a response, holiday cookie and treat recipes, coloring pages, and a toy shop to get wish list ideas.
