  • Jones Lang LaSalle wins 13 new retail assignments

    Atlanta -- Jones Lang LaSalle announced it has been chosen for 13 new retail services assignments including property management, leasing and accounting services for a variety of owners throughout the United States.

    During the first half of 2011, Jones Lang LaSalle has added 22 new retail assignments totaling more than 5.3 million sq. ft. of space.

  • Family Dollar opens 7,000th store

    Matthews, N.C. -- Family Dollar said Thursday it has opened its 7,000th store -- on South Highland St. in Memphis, Ten.

    The newest store, which opened on Wednesday, features a new design with green elements and easy-to-navigate layout.

  • Two new restaurant leases signed for Clayton Valley Shopping Center

    Concord, Calif. -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased space to two new restaurant tenants at Clayton Valley Shopping Center, located in Concord, Calif.

    Five Guys Burgers and Fries has leased 2,400 sq. ft., and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will open fall 2011 in a 1,740-sq.-ft. space.

    The 260,000-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Orchard Supply Hardware alongside national retailers such as Ross Dress for Less, Fresh & Easy and CVS/pharmacy.
     

  • Athleta makes East Coast debut

    San Francisco -- Gap will open two Athleta store this week in Manhattan’s Upper East and Upper West side neighborhoods. The openings mark the women’s active wear brand’s entry into the East Coast market, and support Athleta’s plan to open up to 50 stores by 2013.

    “Entering New York is a significant milestone for us as we aim to grow our share of the $31 billion women’s active wear market,” said Scott Key, senior vice president and general manager of Athleta.

  • Two new leases signed at Hyde Park Plaza

    Cincinnati -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space to two tenants at Hyde Park Plaza, located in Cincinnati.
     
    Primary healthcare clinic Doctors Express has leased 3,474 sq. ft. and Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt has leased 2,406 sq. ft., bringing the center to 96% leased.

    Both tenants are slated to open this fall.
     
    The 396,861-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by Kroger and Biggs, alongside national retailers such as Michaels, Massage Envy, Panera Bread, Starbucks and Staples.

  • PREIT announces new retail leases

    Philadelphia -- Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust announced that almost half-a-million sq. ft. of leasable space was signed or opened across its mall portfolio since the end of April.

    According to PREIT, leases have been executed with J.C. Penney, Nordstrom Rack, Bravo Cucina Italiana and Forever 21 at Willow Grove (Pa.) Park, in the reconfigured space formerly occupied by Strawbridge’s.

  • Taubman to acquire Chinese retail property consultancy for $24 million

    Bloomfield Hills, Mich. -- Shopping center owner Taubman Centers reported Monday that its Taubman Asia division will acquire 90% controlling interest in TCBL Consulting Limited, a Beijing-based retail real estate consultancy with seven offices in mainland China.

  • CBRE announces exec promotion

    New York City -- CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. announced Tuesday that Matt Van Buren has been promoted to president, New York Tri-State Region.

    Van Buren joined CBRE in January 2006. Previously, he served as executive managing director, with responsibility for CBRE's Midtown Manhattan brokerage division, as well as all activities relating to the firm's operations at its New York City headquarters at 200 Park Avenue.
