  • Longtime Kroger exec to lead Delta division

    Cincinnati -- Kroger announced that Tim Brown now will be responsible for stores in western Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri, as president of the company's Delta division.

    Brown, 52, has been VP operations in the company's Delta division, based in Roanoke, Va., since 2011. Before that, he served as the Mid-Atlantic division's VP merchandising since 2009.
     

  • Motorcycle Superstore teams with Accertify to deploy chargeback solution

    Chicago -- Fraud prevention and risk management solution-provider Accertify announced Tuesday that online motorcycle outfitter Motorcycle Superstore has deployed Accertify’s Chargeback Management Solution and seen an overall lift in chargeback win rates of 62%.

  • Davaco announces promotion

    Dallas -- Davaco announced that it has promoted Tim Currier to VP operations.

    In this role, Currier will oversee the company’s restaurant division and provide oversight of project management and field execution teams.

    Currier, who was most recently director of operations for Davaco, will report to Mike Murray, senior VP operations.
     

  • Retail Roadshow in Dallas on Thursday; register now

    New York -- Retail executives are invited to attend the Microsoft Retail Roadshow, which will be held in the Dallas suburb of Irving, Texas, on Thursday, March 22. The half-day event will explore ways that retailers can increase operational efficiency, lower costs and innovate to drive customer engagement.

    The event, which will include continental breakfast, lunch, demos and a partner showcase, will be held at Microsoft, 7000 State Highway 161 (George Bush Turnpike), Building LC1, Irving, Texas, 75039.

  • Sam’s Club tops across all industries in customer loyalty rankings

    Waban, Mass. -- Sam's Club, Aldi, Publix Super Markets, Amazon.com, and H.E.B. are the retailers with the most loyal customers according to a new study by Temkin Group. The report, the 2012 Temkin Loyalty Ratings, rates the loyalty that consumers have to 206 large companies across 18 industries.

  • Walgreens launches wellness portal on Facebook

    Atlanta -- Walgreens and online health Q&A platform Sharecare announced Tuesday the launch of a new “Answers” application providing access to the largest searchable drug, supplement and wellness database currently available on Facebook, according to the companies.

    The application, which is integrated into Walgreens Facebook page, gives Walgreens followers access to an interactive portal containing health information and resources.

  • Sears Holdings names real estate leader

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Sears Holdings Corp. announced Tuesday that it has named David Lukes as president, real estate development for the company.

    Lukes was previously president and CEO of real estate firm Mall Properties.

    Lukes has been charged with leading Sears’ efforts to further develop its real estate assets, including those that are now non-retail.

  • StoreBoard Media Canada teams with Staples Canada and Zellers

    New York -- StoreBoard Media announced Tuesday that its licensee, StoreBoard Media Canada, has added Staples Canada and Zellers to its in-store billboard network, which offers marketers an opportunity to advertise their brands on security pedestals located at entranceways and in other high-traffic areas of stores.

    The pair of agreements will add nearly 4,000 security pedestals to the StoreBoard Canada network.
