Report: NCR moves corporate HQ to Ga.
Dayton, Ohio Technology vendor NCR said late Tuesday that it plans to move its headquarters to Georgia, where it will also build a new manufacturing facility, according to an article on CNNMoney.com.
NCR, which has resided in Dayton, Ohio, for a century, said the move would lower its operating costs and boost collaboration among associates since it already has offices in Duluth, Ga. The vendor was also attracted to “an available work force, infrastructure, incentives given, the government tax structure and benefits to NCR employees, future employees and stakeholders,” the company said in the article.
The new offices will employ 2,000 associates. NCR’s first priority is to fulfill almost 900 positions at its new manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ga., which will focus on ATM technology.
The vendor said it will invest $30 million in the relocation project, which will begin next month, and the annual payroll for the new positions could be as high as $150 million. The investment qualified the company for approximately $60 million in tax incentives, the article said.
